Caught the drive-in show. Started out fun-enough with some local family magic and juggling acts which were quite impressive. A little cornball at times thanks to the MC who admitted he was a little out of practice but he said great words and came across very genuine. The short film shown was beyond excellent and not surprising the company has earned Academy award nominations. The "automatic story telling" finale was an impressive bit of improv and supported by messages that mean the world to me as an artist.

My favorite theater and so accessible. I saw a play by a friend of mine called because I went There , part of Gender Shorts series. Really high caliber and interesting twist on social stigma.
Working with the Bay Area talent they bring fresh and origunal plays by lical directors and writers. I also discovered that have story telling, circus acts and music events. They have beer and wine, non-alcoholic drinks and snacks for a very reasonable price that can be taken into the theater.
Street parking is free after 6 and Sundays. The County garage offers free parking on weekends and after 6 pm

I'm a season ticket holder at Dragon Theatre and am continually surprised by the interesting selection of plays and the amazing performances. I just saw K2 by Patrick Meyers last night. Before I went I was not that interested in the play - "Stranded on an icy ledge at 27,000 feet on K2, the second highest mountain in the world, two climbers are in serious trouble." But the play was quite brilliant - exploring life and death, friendship, overcoming challenges, even quantum physics. The actors were fabulous, the setting was inspired, and the overall experience highly enjoyable.

Very different theater experience! Having such a small intimate space (~100? seats)makes you feel almost as if you are part of the show. Of course, the quality of the show depends on the show. Seating here is individual armchairs on elevated platforms. The chairs are not very comfortable, as they don't recline at all and are very upright, but cushions are provided. Because they're not connected though, you can shift them a bit which is nice. Snacks and drinks are also available, though we usually have dinner first in one of the many terrific restaurants downtown. Downtown is lovely at night, beautifully

What a wonderful little theater! Came here for Hedda Gabbler, and it was a must-see! Season ticket holders get front row reserved seats with tables, with the rest being general seating, but there are only about 60 seats, so every seat is good. PLUS there is a 'balcony' room you can reserve with a sofa and you get champagne and chocolate! Concessions, including wine, beer, and freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, are reasonable.
Parking in downtown RWC can be tough, and the Jefferson Garage can get expensive, but the County Lot at Middlefield and Veteran's is free nights and

Airswimming is an artfully done performance of a play by a British playwright about the true story of two women forgotten in a home for unwed mothers. The subject sounds grim but the performances show humor, pluckiness, making the best of their lot. In real life the women were released decades later. The actors capture your attention from beginning to end. This performance could hold its own in any city.

Hip and community-focused Dragon Theater is a hidden gem in the center of Redwood City's downtown district. The shows I've seen at Dragon were superbly produced and thought-provoking. The performance space is intimate and very well designed... just a few rows of seats wrap around 2 sides of the stage (so all seats are great), and the first row boasts cocktail tables, adding a fun and urbane element to seeing a show. Highly recommended!

My husband and I have attended Dragon Theater productions for 2 seasons now and we love the intimacy (4 rows?) of the space and variety of choices.
"Waiting for Godot" was fantastic; thoroughly enjoyed "Caenus and Poseidon". Sometimes the acting is a little uneven, but mostly the shows are well acted, scenery well (even ingeniously) designed. Drinks and snacks are allowed inside, and you can reserve a front row table to share. Also, their Monday Night Play Space offerings can be very good: we saw 2 informative and insightful play readings by Citizens United Theater of Silicon

Terrific local theater. Love having it in the 'hood. If you are looking for plays that will challenge you, this is the place. Acting and sets are way above the norm 95% of the time. (The other 5% is forgivable given how much Dragon offers). Reasonable prices, every seat has a view, lots of nearby parking and eateries. It's our favorite night out.

Went to watch 'When the rain stops falling'. Absolutely loved the show. The actors were talented and the scenes had been constructed beautifully. The first half lays the groundwork for the second half, which brings the plot together. I was completely immersed in the play for the entire running time.
The theatre itself is very intimate with a capacity of 70-80 people. Conveniently located in the Redwood City theatre district, it is close to multiple café's/restaurants and parking garages. The doors usually open half an hour before the beginning of the show so it is better to go

Show is great! Talented artists!
However, the management is the worst. The owner, manager, and even their staffs are all so arrogant and inconsiderate. They have a very inflated opinion of their worth, and they feel they're so superior than anyone else.
They trapped their audience with an unnecessary intermission, so they could sell drinks, snacks, or other stuff to the audience. (The show wasn't long enough to have a intermission.)

"Show People" was such a fun play! The actors were amazing,
great timing on their humor, costumes and sets were perfect, and the intimate
setting was so much fun! I love that you can drink, wine, water or whatever
during the show too. I cant wait to tell my 'Theater friends' to be sure and
make it point to get there. Thank you for a lovely evening Dragon Productions!

Loved it! We caught the 8pm showing of Show People and were captivated by the performance. The only thing better than the show itself was the venue. I cannot wait to return to the Dragon theatre and hope to catch The Columnist in the coming months. In the meanwhile I will be recommending this venue to anyone and everyone!

This is an unsuspecting little theatre in the middle of downtown Redwood City.
I came here to see the magic show by David Gerard. It was a very small group of audience, but it was perfect for this intimate setting.
The door usually opens 15 minutes before show time, you can line up if you want the front row seats, but truthfully, I felt that there were no bad seats at this theatre.
I can't wait to come back again and catch another show!

I could give five stars, but gave four this time because there are always some ways to improve even the best!
We saw Les Liaisons Dangereuses here on Saturday evening. The play was brilliant!! Many dialogs were really funny implying some naughty things ;-) The free improv show was offered just after the play at 11pm, but we had to go home. If we had been able to stay, two shows for the price of one discount ticket! Good deal!!
The theatre is located right in RWC Downtown near many restaurants and free parking (after 6pm). It's quite small with the capacity of about less than 100 people
