Overdentures are held securely to increase speaking and chewing ability. They attach a customized denture to individual implants or a row of implants, securing the denture in place. They look completely natural, are long-lasting and are quite durable. The supporting implants are normally placed toward the front of the mouth, where the bone is denser, or wherever the least amount of bone loss has occurred.
With removable dentures, the implants support a bar to which the denture is snapped on and off. This permits you to remove it at home for cleaning. Although the denture is removable, it remains firmly attached during normal functions, including eating and talking. Whether fixed or removable, the finished result is nearly indistinguishable from natural teeth.
Brush the outer tooth surfaces, the inner tooth surfaces, and the chewing surfaces of the teeth. Use the tip of the brush to clean the inside surfaces of the front teeth, using a gentle up-and-down stroke. Bring the floss back toward the contact point between the teeth and move the floss up or down the other side, conforming the floss to the shape of the tooth.
During the initial examination, a dental hygienist and/or general dentist will evaluate your plaque buildup and examine your gums for possible periodontal problems. Using an instrument called a periodontal probe, the depth of the spaces between your teeth and gums, called the sulcus will be measured.

Dr. Erickson and his assistant did a fantastic job on a gum graft surgery for a severely recessed tooth of mine causing me pain. It was not painful at all during surgery, was quick, and looks very neat/precisely done. I would highly recommend Dr. Erickson and team for anyone needing gum graft surgery. They kept me well informed of everything and were very kind.

For most, a visit to this care facility means pain, a sore mouth and maybe a lot of anxiety! And for me, the anxiety is far worse than the rest!
However; the folks at Sky Ridge Periodontics made my visit as pleasurable at it could possibly be! Dr Erickson and his team made me feel like I was the most important person in the room. Dr Erickson provided options and was level with me on expectations. Through his skilled hands, within minutes my problems were solved and out the door we went!
As for the office staff, they are the perfect example of how being kind to people, matters!! For once, I didn’t

Absolutely the best Periodontist I have seen. The first time I walked into his office I was greeted with his staff. They were all smiles and very warm friendly people. I was promptly seated with Graig giving me a thorough explanation of the work to be done. The length of time involved, how many visits I will need, associated costs, etc. I can’t speak highly enough about his business and would definitely recommend him. Dr. Graig Erickson took the time and care to listen (and hear) the complex dental issue I came to see him about. He then allocated an exceptional amount of time, not rushed in any sense of the word, to assess and deal with the delicate dental problem I was experiencing. The supporting staff also were courteous and genuinely interested and concerned about the patient as well. The rates charged for his excellent services were also most reasonable in my opinion. I was very grateful for the relief Dr. Erickson provided for the challenging dental problem I was experiencing.
