Statewide Commercial Insurance Brokers has been providing insurance to contractors and those in the building trades for over 20 years. We pride ourselves on providing excellent coverage at great rates for those who work with their hands. As brokers we represent many different insurance companies and we will shop many different companies to provide a policy for you that is the best fit and the best rate.
Your commercial general liability policy probably has limits of $1 million to $2 million. However, if you are a contractor you might be told you need higher liability limits to get the job. Or it may make sense to you to have higher liability limits due to the nature of your business or the amount of assets you need to protect.
One of your clients calls you to say that his credit card was used for several unauthorized purchases right after he used it to pay you. You assure him that his personal information is completely safe with you. Later that day another client calls to give you a new credit card number for her monthly payments because she had to cancel the card on file after someone used it for a buying spree in the last 48 hours.
Most general liability and BOP policies now have a specific employment-related practices exclusion. Your business is more likely to have an employment practices liability claim than a general liability or property loss claim. EPLI claims are costly and time-consuming. Most employee lawsuits last at least one and half years and defense costs average above $100,000 per case.
You'll need liquor liability coverage if your business sells or serves any type of alcoholic beverage. Personal injury and property damage caused by intoxicated persons often results in lawsuits against all parties even remotely connected to the alcohol consumed. The cost of your legal defense alone can easily run over $100,000.

My husband has been going with Statewide for couple of years now as his GL provider. It has been great being able to have Lynn from the renewal department assist us since she is very informative and professional.
