Charlotte Tent & Awning
Charlotte Tent and Awning was started by W.E. Price, making tents, awnings, and wagon covers. Hence the name, Charlotte Tent and Awning. The company was located on 4th Street and the telephone number was 343. In WWII Charlotte Tent and Awning supplied M1 carbine pouches for the military. Then in 1960 R.P. Steffey bought the company and moved it to W. Trade st. in downtown Charlotte.

The company was later sold to Tom Mangum and later moved to another location on E. Trade Street and incorporated on 5/14/1980. Tom Mangum sold Charlotte Tent and Awning to Richard Stasczak in 1985. Mr. Stasczak, a former printing industry executive, was planning an ambitious expansion. Their deal was for Mr. Mangum, who planned to retire within six months, help teach Mr. Stasczak the ins and outs of making and installing canvas products.

Just a quick note to say how much I appreciate Bek. I'm 75yo and often I'm talked down to, or otherwise treated disrespectfully. Bek is a shining example of professional, courteous, and friendly all at the same time. He's very knowledgeable and explains things so his audience easily understands the information.

Very professional company. They keep their promises. They show up on time and take care of their customer. They did a beautiful louvered canopy for us. They put it up in 2 days as promised, before the Christmas. Installing LED lights, on the other hand, took some time though due to some delivery issues however Bekir and Rodney was always in contact, and let us know the progress of the issue. Bekir is an excellent person who kept us in the loop during the process of installation, from the beginning of the project. Hard working guys! They are customer oriented. Excellent, excellent job! Just a quick note to say how much I appreciate Bek. I’m 75yo and often I’m talked down to, or otherwise treated disrespectfully. Bek is a shining example of professional, courteous, and friendly all at the same time. He’s very knowledgeable and explains things so his audience easily understands the information. Kindness is his middle name. He has a genuine desire to please his customers and that ranks very high up on my list of attributes for a good salesperson. Thank you for sending him my way, and I’m hoping the 3other ladies I sent him to will also be getting your product.
Most sincerely

I understand that North Carolina is a fire at will but when you know you have hired a handicap person and notes need to be wrote to communicate with them and you say they were let go for refusing to do a task and no notes were written that's wrong. When a meeting has been planned and you only take the word of one person what happened that's wrong. Thank goodness concerns for the handicap person for his safety he told me when he was threatened. Place needs to do a surprise drug test on everyone.

Had a problem with our Awning. Bek came out that day and took care of the problem. He was very professional and courteous. We could not have asked for a better experience.
