Our office is currently closed and we are not accepting reservations until further notice. Situated in a low mountain valley of Northern California's Mendocino County, the 5,000 acres that would become Ridgewood Ranch were originally inhabited by the indigenous Pomo peoples. The property was purchased by automobile magnate Charles S.
Howard in 1919, and he quickly transformed it into a fully working ranch and thoroughbred facility, complete with the Howard's large Craftsman style home, and horse stud barn. Located on the Sprawling Ridgewood Ranch in Mendicino County of Northern California. Ridgewood Ranch is where the beloved Racehorse Seabiscuit retired and lived the remainder of his life.

HORRIBLE PEOPLE!! I have been visiting this place for 30 years now due 2 my grandfather living here and u would think that the people (a church) would be kind hearted Christians But they are the complete opposite! For the past 4 or 5 years they did nothing but harass my grandfather, my children and me. They were so horrible that they even called my grandpa twice during his 5 hour Chemo treatment 2 complain that I had parked in the cul-de-sac in front of his house and that that was against the park rules I mean seriously people with the name like the golden rule you would expect kindness instead

Stayed here for an overnight from the Redwoods to San Francisco and it was a great place to stop and unwind. The fact that there was no phone signal suited us perfectly. Plenty of time to read and chill. The pool was welcoming, the laundry facilities worked, and the lovely lady at check-in was friendly. Ignore the Google maps location and rather search for Ridgewood Ranch. You'll see a large sign saying that with Golden Rule RV underneath.

A great hidden gem! Big driveways in and out and large pull thru spaces for our 40ft RV. The staff is the friendliest! Well maintained park, clean and quiet. We pulled in at almost midnight and had zero trouble getting to our spot. They marked it with a cone and we were in bed within 20 minutes of shutting down the rig. They share the road with the farm they retired Seabiscuit on and there are tours on Saturdays.

Nice clean park. It is well maintained with a friendly staff. If you have multiple slid outs on your RV make sure to mention it when you make a reservation; as an older park the sites were probably design before RVs had slide outs so can be a bit tight. We would definitely stop again! Added bonus is the Seabiscuit Stud Barn/Stable on the same road.

Older park with few amenities, but it was quiet, safe and pretty. There were a flock of wild turkeys in and out of the park, which was fun. The swimming pool was closed during our off-season stay and there were very few other campers. It is an older park, so big electricity users may be frustrated, but our 30 amp 5th wheel had no problems. Access is easy (turn lane) and re-entering highway was easy with center lane to turn into. The park is nearly 1 mile from highway down a rather steep and winding paved road. No problems, but be aware. We enjoyed our stay.

YES!! Stay here. We were traveling south on the 101 redwood highway and needs a place to stay overnight. We pulled in to fuel up in Willits and reviewed several rv parks. The multi thousand acre ranch that this rv park is attached to caught our eye. It was after office hours so we pulled in, checked the board outside and identified an empty space with hookups. Had full hook ups and no cable or WiFi. We were backed in with a dry riverbed view. We saw deer, wild turkeys and other wildlife. There is a small pool there. We didn't use the laundry or showers. This is a great stop over or more place

Beautiful,Quiet Quaint RV Park. Located on the Sprawling Ridgewood Ranch in Mendicino County of Northern California. Ridgewood Ranch is where the beloved Racehorse Seabiscuit lived and died. So.... for you Seabiscuit fans this is the place to be!

Lovely! Yes, it's a wide, winding road (approx. 1.5 miles or less) down to their RV park, but QUIET down there ... so worth it :-) Super terrific staff (Patty and Lynn) and we had an enjoyable 2 nights. Older equipment (electric boxes are 10-12" off the ground), but everything WORKS! Bathrooms older, but CLEAN! Great place, GREAT price at $33/night for Seniors/Good Sam. 30 amp only and cash only.

Lovely, quiet and peaceful place to spend the night. We were traveling south on the 101 and needed a quiet place to rest and shower. The park is delightful. The RV area is small, well-kept and very peaceful for being off of the 101. Do not be deterred by the presence of a mobile park; it too is very well maintained and separate from the RV area. We saw wild turkeys, deer and a starry, starry sky. The restrooms were clean and the showers were very good. It is affordable, beautiful and peaceful.

We stayed here on a lark as an overnight spot on our cross state trip. We were pleasantly surprised with how nicely everything was kept. The park is small and secluded, but was loaded with friendly folks. The outdoor pool was a nice amenity for the price and the showers and bathrooms were clean and nice. The showers were also free which we always appreciate. Will definitely stay again.

Disappointing experience. Golden Rule charges a premium price but the park is poorly laid out. The "pull through" spaces lack sufficient room to turn. We had to disconnect our tow vehicle and back out. No wireless. Limited cell phone coverage. Trees block TV satellite. Our sewer dump was above the site so the hose would need to run uphill. Site was not level. Not recommended.

This is my 2nd time going here. We called ahead and made reservations, this time they had us on their books (Last time they didn't see us). There were only 8 to 10 RV's there this time, and we were able to get a nice shady spot.
We got to use the pool 2 times during our 1 night stay. The water was very clean and just the right temperature. Also, it was not over-chlorinated, which was nice.
The only downfall to this place is that there is very little cell phone service and zero wifi (you must go up to the laundry room if you want to use their wifi).
If you are on the road and need a quiet
