This is an important question and can have a tremendous impact on a child's educational journey. Florida's current definition of giftedness is: One who has superior intellectual development and is capable of high performance. The purpose of specialized education for gifted students is to provide appropriate educational experiences that foster the development of their potential and their unique abilities.
Children/Adolescents (like adults) can suffer from depression, anxiety, general stress, and other problems. In the modern world Children/Adolescents face a variety of intense pressures and stress. In fact, anxiety in children is more common than ever, especially anxiety about specific issues like school, bullies, and standardized testing.
This covers a wide range of evaluations. Evaluations may include intellectual testing, academic achievement, personality testing, ADHD assessments, parenting assessments, disability assessments or other issues. The cost varies widely, depending on the issues that need to be assessed, and the time the testing process would take.
