I have worked as a speech-language pathologist for over thirty years in many settings (private practice; nursing care facilities; home health care; and hospitals). I am proud of my excellent education, because it provides me with a strong professional foundation, upon which I continue to build. Speech and language difficulties not only affect your ability to communicate, they affect your quality of life. We ensure every patient receives comprehensive and personalized care for the most effective treatment program. In addition to using traditional therapy methods, we actively pursue new and innovative treatment approaches.
Speech Sound Disorders (SSD) include articulation disorders, in which a child has trouble physically producing a sound or sounds, and phonological disorders (also known as phonological process disorders), in which the child produces set patterns of sound errors. By age five, most of a child's speech should be understood, and by age eight, children should be able to say all sounds correctly.

Brenda at the front desk is great, but Joy is very disconnected. We had been going twice a week for over two months and every time she saw my daughter, Joy would act like it was the first appointment, then at the end would act as if she had been seeing her for months. My daughts godmother brought her in once, who looks absolutely nothing like me, and Joy kept referring to her as Mom. We saw Lee once and she was great, but I’ve heard that others have also complained about Joy being very impersonal. She also seems to not understand or acknowledge my feelings about making my daughter comfortable

My two year old son was referred to speech therapy and I am so incredibly thankful I chose this location to visit (and stay!) Everyone is so kind, calm, and understanding with him and he just loves it here. I was just a complete ball of nerves as a mother about this entire situation and this staff takes the time to really explain everything to you and makes you feel at ease. I would highly recommend Hyman Hearing & Speech to anyone with small children that need this special care. From the bottom of my heart, I thank this staff!

Words can not describe how incredible our experience with Hyman has been. Starting with Brenda (the front desk receptionist), she is a wonderful person and always a pleasure to see! She keeps you informed about appointments, she works with you and makes the best accommodations for you and I have not seen her have one bad day! I have been bringing my son here for 10 months and I can honestly say, Much Improvement!! Mrs. Hyman and Jamie are God's Gift to Speech Therapy! They have opened up My Son's language development and social skills tremendously. They are always dedicated to getting the job done
