Packaging Consultants International (PCI) was incorporated in 1980 and resides at 1101 State Fair Boulevard, in Syracuse, New York. The company's laboratory serves the single-service food and beverage industry by providing an integrated consultative program. Services are provided to manufacturing plants which include audits, microbiology, and chemical testing of packaging materials, and to act as a liaison to governmental regulatory agencies.
PCI is approved by the FDA to conduct certifications to FDA standards of foreign manufacturers of single-serve enclosures. The Scope of Accreditation includes the four primary tests techniques for which PCI is an acknowledged expert - disintegration, swab, rinse and pour contact. These include total bacteria, coliforms, yeast, and mold.

The Packaging Consultants International laboratory serves the single-service food and beverage packaging industry by helping it to maintain the quality of its products through an integrated consulting program. A yearly audit of the manufacturing plant is conducted to assist management in detecting problem areas and to recommend corrective measures.
A: The "less than" ( < ) notation is used to indicate that statistically, no colonies or evidence of growth were seen on the plate. However, there is variability in the microbiological testing process. This variability comes from several sources - sampling by the client, sub-sampling by PCI, test processing, plate counting, etc.
PCI has over 300 customers that are provided routine services. In addition, over 40 intermittent clients (complex clients) are serviced. The company conducts at least 130 audits each year, not only throughout the United States, but also 112 locations internationally. PCI has always gone above and beyond for our company.
