Services
Yards from the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk and beach, Carltons has been the primary provider of men's and women's apparel for the citizens of the Delmarva penisula and the tourists that visit the resort each summer since 1960. Don't let our age fool you. We have clothing and accessories for grandparents, grandchildren and all in between.
Carltons is located at 31 Rehoboth Avenue (north side) in downtown Rehoboth beach just 35 yards from the sand and boardwalk. Rehoboth Avenue can be reached by exiting Highway 1 in Rehoboth Beach. Highway 1 runs from Interstate 95 (Christiana, DE) to Ocean City, MD. Carltons can no longer offer private parking, as much to our dismay, the property was sold.
If you are looking to rent a tuxedo, you will make the right choice with Carltons. There are so many reasons. We have years of expert experience serving the local prom goers, ball guests and wedding parties. We have expert tailoring on location to help with those last minute alterations. We have a large selection - offering over 30,000 different combinations of outfits.

Carlton’s is in the tradition of those clothiers of old — the now nearly extinct brick and mortar stores with excellent customer service; salespeople who knew their inventory and how to help customers find the right size or style for a given occasion; and personal touches like complimentary gift-wrapping or a call or email on your anniversary or birthday. For the most part, small, personalized department stores like Carlton’s simply don’t exist any more. They have gone the way of women wearing hats and gloves on Sunday, of men removing their hats when entering a room, and of other forms

You have no idea how great you're going to look until Trey, of Carlton's Apparel, gets you measured. My navy blue wedding tuxedo fit like a glove, as well as my groomsmen! Trey pride's himself in making YOU look good, as if he were wearing the outfit. He's precise, and a great communicator who worked incredibly well under pressure to get my guys fitted to satisfaction, and looking sharp! Thank you so much Trey, and your entire staff at Carlton's...I'll see you again!

They don’t do returns, only exchanges. It’s 2020 and you don’t do returns? You’re not just competing against other retail like Brooks Brothers, you’re also competing against online like Amazon and Charles Tyrwhitt, how can you not do returns?
Service was poor, even before they knew I wanted to do a return, from the moment I walked in I felt like I was an inconvenience to them, also not the best strategy in the age of digital commerce since experience is really the only thing setting your apart.
Used to like the store, not the biggest selection but every now and then they’d have something

Carltons carries a few interesting men’s brands. The negative about the store is that the sales associates are almost like used car salesman. When I was in the dressing room trying on a few shirts the sales associate stood outside the door the entire time I could see him. That’s a very comforting feeling to know that someone is standing within a half a foot of the door where you are changing. Simply a violation of personal space and very awkward and uncomfortable. Within about 20 seconds he asked is the shirt on yet can I see It. I find this type of sales tactics extremely irritating, I would

Carltons is a nice clotheirs on the main drag. More upscale and stylish selections that work well for the beach life or back at home or on other vacations. The staff know the inventory and how to help find the right fit. They have choices for men and women. The better choice if you want something other than t-shirts flip flops and baseball hats prevelent all over the boardwalk and downtown.
