Evolutia is committed to reclaiming and bringing new life to historic and pre-used building materials by transforming them into creative and inspired new products such as wood flooring, skins, and beams. In essence, Evolutia is a recycling company focused on processing reclaimed wood, preventing waste of potentially useful materials, and reducing the consumption of fresh, raw resources.
Your reclaimed wood flooring from Evolutia will have a story to tell because our process begins with the deconstruction and salvage of old structures throughout the United States. We offer a variety of wood species that can be custom-milled to your exact specifications. From traditional to wide widths, and from rustic to premium finishes, our products are starkly different than anything you will find in a big box store.
In the mid-18th century when the United States was being birthed, large old growth trees were an abundant resource in the virgin timberlands of our original colonies. As our nation expanded, these old growth trees were a necessary resource. With maturity taking 300 to 500 years, their strength and longevity were impressive as building materials.
Our reclaimed skins can be used in a variety of applications like accent walls, ceilings, and siding. They are cut to? inch thick so we can offer the character of the material without the weight. We straightline all our skins so they fit snugly to each other, leaving no gaps. All of our skins are kiln dried to ensure they will be free of moisture and insects and will not warp.
Our process begins with dilapidated structures deemed "unusable." In addition to these old structures are solid wood waste streams like pallets and shipping crates. After sourcing, our reclaimed wood materials are inspected, documented, cleaned, and inventoried at our warehouse located in Birmingham, Ala.

The team at Evolutia, especially Clay and Julie, go above and beyond. Their extensive knowledge and expertise made choosing the best and most beautiful wood possible for our project easy. Evolutia has the most beautiful wood for interior design I have ever seen. Having been affiliated with the construction business for over 40 years I remember a time you could not find the exotic woods that now are only a selection away at the Evolutia location in Birmingham, AL. For anyone wanting to use unusual wood that is truly recycled this is the place to go! Reasonable prices for what you get too; not for bargain hunters but rather for the discriminating buyer who understands the value and beauty of antique wood.
