Due to an increase agricultural equipment sales in the late 1990s, John Deere elected to add a dealership in Baldwin City, Kansas.
Baldwin City provided a large agriculture workforce and close proximity to the Kansas City area, which made it a fertile place to grow a fledgling dealership. John Deere approached Ken Wagner for advice and leadership on the project. Ken agreed to take part in the new adventure. In 1998, the first location opened on the 17-acre property just outside of Baldwin City.
