My name is Starla Tracy and I am the owner of A Thriving Start Childcare Home in Concord, North Carolina. We are conveniently located off Highway 49 and Highway 601, with a short 20-minute commute to both UNC Charlotte and North East Hospital. Our Childcare Home is licensed by the state of NC and we hold to the strictest standards for health and safety.
There are many wonderful ways we differ from a daycare center but what I love most is the close relationships, personal attention, and care each child receives in our cozy home environment. Children inspire me every day as I watch them learn, play & explore our exciting world. There is so much more to"play" than meets the eye.

A Thriving Start was my daughter's first experience with child care. Her grandmother typically takes care of her but with Kindergarten approaching, we felt it would be good to get her in a group setting with other children to see how well she would adapt. We were surprised after the first day when she told us how much fun she had and was excited to return! Starla always has activities and art for the kiddos to do and lots of wonderful play-based learning methods. So glad we choose A Thriving Start over a typical daycare germ center, especially with all the COVID craziness going on right now.

Highly recommend!!!! Exceptional childcare in a warm, kind, loving, creative, safe, enjoyable environment. Any parent would be truly blessed to have their child in such a wonderful child home care. Starla is so kind, so caring, so loving to all the children that are blessed to be in her care. She is a wonderfully creative teacher and any child would benefit greatly in her care. I truly can't recommend A Thriving Start enough!!!!

This is THE place to go if you want to surround your child with beauty, love, & care. I was amazed at the beautiful playrooms & high quality wooden toys they have invested in. You as an adult will want to just sit & play yourself! Starla works hard and she desires to excel in her field, have fun with the kids, and give the best possible care to every child that comes in their welcoming home.
