Cute, quaint little cafe in the Fan! Probably has the best sandwiches in the area. I normally don't eat sandwiches, so I wanted to get something that stood out. The Smoked Salmon Sandwich caught my attention and boooooyyyy, it did not disappoint! Some smoked salmon sandwiches are very salty, but this one was perfect. They've definitely nailed down the ingredients in the sandwich to balance the flavors out.
It came with a side, and I picked their potato salad and that was also delicious as well! Normally some potato salads are just too heavy for me, but this one was just the right amount

Dainty cafe located in the Fan. However, the place is small with few tables and currently no bar seating due to the pandemic. I think there was some miscommunication with the hostess. We had a party of 4 and were okay with separating into smaller tables of 2 (maybe she wasn't okay with that idea), but she didn't really gesture for us to sit down and then repeated again, "are you dining in or taking out?", which made it slightly feel awkward and uncomfortable.

Garnett's Cafe is a delicious spot in Richmond that I would recommend for any sandwich lover! We ordered takeout, and our four sandwiches were ready in just 10 minutes. I got the German, which was a delightful combination of sweet apple butter, cheddar, and ham. The sandwich also came with a side, which was a great deal for the price. BEST SANDWICH SHOP IN RICHMOND!! Small town vibes. Can be fancy or casual which I love about this place.

LOVED THIS PLACE! It's super small so be prepared for little seating but it's so cute and quaint. The atmosphere and decor are awesome. Totally small business, funky, old school RVA with a modern diner vibe. I got the Manny and oh my, it was beyond delicious. My boyfriend got the Aviator and was pleased. (I think he should have gone with one of the warm/grilled sandwiches). The house made pickles were great too, I think they're bread and butter style so keep that in mind if you're strictly a dill person. Staff was friendly and attentive. A gem! (Pun not intended, but I'm leaving it.) Truly GOOD gluten free bread instead of "the usual" cardboard stuff. I've even had their cheese plate with gf bread subbed in for the crackers and it was wonderful! Highly recommend any sandwich they make--all delicious. Ingredients are very fresh and high-quality. Really nice people, too.

Such a charming and quaint cafe in the Fan. My son and I popped in for a quick dinner in the midst of moving him into his first apartment. It was a short walk from his place. We were both delighted with the menu selections. We ordered Spinach Salad, House Made Pickles, & Louisville Hot Brown. To top off the meal, I had a slice of Gluten-Free Buttermilk Pie that was to die for (so delicious I didn't snap a pic before diving in). What they say about the chicken salad sandwich is true. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was!! Perfect sandwich for a hot day (and we've had plenty of those lately). I also had the potato salad as a side but that was whatever. Cant say I'd dine in during COVID times due to the size of the place (very very small), but I'd still come back for takeout!

I had The Aviator (mm, nothing like horseradish to clear the sinuses), plus their in-house "tiger sauce." I was curious about their homemade spicy condiment, which was something like a red hot sauce (not aioli). Yum!
A creamy cold brew ice coffee + slice of DELICIOUS coconut cake was the perfect way to round out this summer meal.
They also have a pile of picnic baskets and blankets should you like to take your meal to the corner park outside.

Although this place is known for their Croques, I ordered one of the grilled sandwiches: the Manny - grilled turkey, pepperoni, Swiss, red onion, mayo, and mustard on Italian bread. I kid you not this was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had... and I am a big sandwich lover.

Ordered take out due to COVID-19. I got the tuna nicoise and my roommate got some chicken sandwich. I asked for a side salad, received potato salad. My roommate did not get the correct sandwich and received some variation of a chicken salad.
I would not recommend the tuna. I personally did not like it. I thought I would give the pickled green beans a shot on the sandwich but it was not good. The tuna was very dry. I would not recommend it again. Just all around it was not good. My roommates asked for a side of pickles which were packaged in my box and the potato salad was in her.

Other than my quest for the best margarita, chips & salsa, pizza and ice cream ( you only live once, thank god I compete in triathlon!), I crave great sandwiches. On our way back from a family wedding in High Point (which lacked for really great food), my amazing fiance found this place. We are big Richmond fans, especially for their great restaurants and bars. My gosh...seriously love this place. Not only did they have a little platter of halloween candy (post holiday) but the menu made my mouth water. As a vegetarian who does eat fish, i was torn. What to eat!!!

I absolutely adored Garnett's! After following the cafe on Instagram and on the recommendation of a friend that lives nearby, my partner and I finally made it in for dinner.
