Services
The Klein history in the fish industry began in 1924. Ollie Klein Sr., peddled fish from his truck through Asbury Park, Ocean Grove and the Neptune area. In 1928, he opened Klein's Fresh Air Fish Market in a rented store along Fifth Avenue at the Old Captain Kidd's Landing in Belmar. A few months later, he purchased property at 708 River Rd. and opened Klein's Fish Market at its current location in 1929.
We are available for not only take-out platters but to serve all of your off-site catering needs. Whether it is an intimate gathering of friends, a family reunion, bridal shower, baby shower, rehearsal dinner, small wedding, work event, cocktail party, graduation or other special occasion, we can accommodate all your culinary needs.

Last time my wife and I were there was 24 years ago ( night when we got engaged to be married) place was awesome....we both ordered food specials and it was cooked to perfection!! Sam...our waitress was phenomenal and very accommodating!! My wife and I live almost 2 hours away....but we will come back more frequently.

I have been coming here for years and always love the food! You can't make a reservation but don't let that turn you away. Put in your name and have a drink at the bar they expanded or just walk the area the wait usually goes quick. The food is always fresh, the fish tacos special was great. Beautiful views of the bay while we ate.

Of months ago. I'm always looking for a new place for fresh fish and great scenery, and Klein's was a total catch!!!!! Gorgeous evening..... great ambiance, friendly staff and OMG - the food was absolutely so so fresh and delish....... ending with some really good coffee and a sunset. This place is a gem! We went on a Tuesday evening. They also have live music. I definitely LOL forward to visiting again!

We had the steamers as appetizer and then we ask Tod to have the main course directly from Klein's Fish Market: grill swordfish belly and softshell crabs. Great meal thanks to a wonderful team: Tod, the manager, Nick the server and Marcos at then kitchen. Thank you all and I can not wait till the next culinary experience in our next trip.

We were a table for 10 and asked if there was a possibility of sitting close to the view. There was plenty of empty tables to put together, if not, we wouldn’t have asked. They gave us a table, in the back corner, stating the server only had those tables available. We had to ask again so the manager came over, gave us a table but angrily and violently stacked the extra chairs causing an awkward silence. It was very disappointing and just an overall terrible experience. As you can see in my pictures, there were plenty of tables.

So my wife and I were at Springlake NJ beach. After a great long walk we stopped by this water front joint for some outdoor dinning. We had to wait one hour in the parking lot but itbwas worth the wait. We sat by the dock over looking a bridge where fisherman's boats slowly passed by. Well ghe food was amazing. Fresh. Tasty, and savory to my judgmental mouth. Fried calamari was perfectly fried without the grease or thick breading at all. Thinly coated but crunch and soft. This is not a negative review. the setting is very relaxing and picturesque at night the boats going by in the canal and trains rolling over the bridge... .
But do not order lobsters. these were the worst lobsters I've ever tasted. they weren't lobsters ruined by the way they were cooked, these steamed lobsters had horrible cement like aftertaste, everything else was very good.
Go there, just don't order lobsters.

Not super fancy by any means but everything seemed fresh. The atmosphere was good although finding the entrance was a bit weird from the parking lot on the right side of the building. We sat near the water and watched the boats go by. They had some nice beers on tap and a number of mixed drinks that looked interesting.
I had shrimp with rice and my wife had lobster roll. Everything came out very fast and was simple but tasty.

Excellent service at the bar from Barbara. I recommend the clambake, king crab legs, oysters, and the ocean roll. The clams casino were a little dry and too small. The sunset and espresso martinis were delicious. The house Cabernet is Woodbridge (by Robert Mondavi). This restaurant and bar is located right on the water and has a long wait to get in as it is a popular spot. My friends and I waited 1.5 hours for a table to become available, but wound up eating at the bar instead of waiting any longer. The food, atmosphere, and service are all worth the wait. It is expensive, but you are paying

Great spot!! I spent many summer days of my youth in Belmar but never knew this place existed. I guess Mary’s Husband’s Pub was all we were thinking about at the time. Stopped by for lunch and had a fabulous meal. The shrimp cocktail was spot on as was the sushi. The view and breeze off the water was also great. Will definitely be back the next time we’re in the area. 5 stars to the staff as well.

For 18 years I owned a local B&B and sent ALL of my guests to Klein's because it was always good, 100% of the time.
I was super excited for my "must" dinner here. Our waitress started out so friendly, we smiled and ordered our appetizer. Drunken Clams tasted like someone spilled a jar of oregano in to the broth. I normally ask for more garlic bread to dunk. It was too dreadful. App was ordered, served, eaten and cleared before the server finalllllly came back and asked if we were ready to order? uh. yea, like 20 minutes

The food here was amazing! We ordered oysters & sushi. All were fresh & delicious. We were able to sit by the water on a Father's Day, Sunday & no wait time. Giving this place 4 stars for a few reasons: my party of 4 were seated at a very tiny table, our warm beers came in small flimsy plastic cups, & our waitress did not seem to enjoy her job or maybe was having a bad day.
This was my family's first time here. I was surprised to be given our meals with packets of sauces & paper trays as shown in the photos.

This is going to be a new go to spot for me. My boyfriend has mentioned this place to me for some time and we finally got to experience it this week.
We took his boat over and docked it. It was a really cool experience. There was a wait. Downfall was that there was an open table for an hour and we were waiting and addressing it a few times. Finally after an hour they sat us at the open table. They do let you order drinks at bar while you wait and you can wait either near the bar or on your boat.
When we sat down, the menu had so many amazing options. I was drawn to the Belmar beach roll. IT

Beautiful ambiance, love sitting by the water. Our server Claudia was adorable and attentive. Food was excellent, especially the Calamari. Haven't had Calamari that good in a while. Also had a side crabcake and crab legs, both were very good as well. Thanks Kleins for a great dinner by the water, will return.

Fresh honest seafood, but it's all outdoor patio ambiance. The steamers were perfect; sweet without a trace of sand. The calamari was tender and crisp but the sauce was meh.
The scallops, shrimp, swordfish and mussels were all delicious but once again the sides were meh. The vegetables weren't cooked. The slaw wasn't as good as I remember. But the service was outstanding.

I love this app lace! The employees are friendly and helpful. There is a porch overlooking the water and some seats inside. The food was wonderful! The fries were seasoned perfectly. My husband loved his crab cake sandwich. My sushi was absolutely amazing. There was a minor issue in the Ladies Room but as soon as I let a staff member know she jumped on it. I would definitely come back!!

I ordered fish and chips and my boyfriend ordered the combo platter which had shrimp scallops and flounder as weird as it sounds when biting into each of those the seasoning stuck to your teeth I'm

The fish and chips is good, but the breading was a little chewy. There is a really great atmosphere and service is wonderful despite a 40-min wait for a table on a Friday evening. The outdoor view and live music are excellent, and the Tito's lemonade on tap was deliciously refreshing! My second visit was for a rehearsal dinner for my friend's wedding, which was the perfect start to the weekend on the shore! (8/16/19 and 11/8/19)

with masks and gloves and socially distant tables outdoors on the waterfront patio. They have a happy hour menu with half priced and $5 drinks. The food is pretty good. Crab cake was pure crab meat and not fillers. The key lime pie was good, but a little more tart than I like. Cool place. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

Amazing food and even better customer service. Everything was fresh and the time between the appetizer and the entree was perfect. It allowed us to savor the flavor of our appetizer( We had the Old Bay Wings), have a conversation and be ready for the entree( I had the Flounder Platter, my wife had the Blackened Salmon and my daughter had the cheeseburger sliders). All our entrees were cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. The same length of time was given between the entree and the dessert( I had the Key Lime Pie, my wife had coffee and my daughter had the cheesecake).The same amazing tastes
