Services
You may purchase your leotards, tights, ballet, tap, and jazz shoes from a recognized dancewear shop OR new this year our dress code can be found on Eurotard HERE! Our Eurotard dress code for the 2021-2022 Season isREQUIRED. All students should wear something over their dance clothes coming and leaving the studio.
A highly recognized centre for dance and theatre education, Southern Performing Arts Academy, has been serving the metro Atlanta area for over twenty five years. We are a staff of highly sought after directors and teaching staff dedicated to providing the public with the highest expertise in the world of dance, theatre, and music.
Celebrated for its' beauty, Ballet is the traditional form of dance that evolved from the court dances King Louis XIV in the 1600's. The word ballet is French but comes from the Italian word ballare, which means, "to dance." Over time it has been refined to the skilled and artistic vision we see today.
Tap is an art form in itself that teaches rhythm, timing, and balance using the dancer's feet. Tap dancers learn how to use their feet like a drum to create rhythmic patterns and sounds. Tap, like hip- hop has many different styles but a lot of times you can categorize it into a couple of different styles.
One of my passions in life is to provide individuals with special needs the opportunity to feel free to express themselves though the performing arts! My passion was fulfilled 7 years ago when I was given the opportunity to establish the first special needs dance class at SBT! I have taught dancing for the last 20 years specializing in tap instruction.

I have danced at this studio since I was very little and couldn't have asked for a better experience! All of the teachers care so much about the students. The teachers have helped me so much throughout the years, and thanks to their guidance and help and with the studio's connections through Regional Dance America I have gotten many college scholarships and summer intensive opportunities!

This dance studio is amazing! It provides wonderful dance training and opportunities to work with people in the industry. The owners have made the studio so much more than dance and now are going to be working with local theaters and colleges to provide even more opportunities for students of all ages in the Downtown Lawrenceville area! Definitely check this one out!

Fantastic place for students and staff. The owners do a great job of creating fantastic opportunities for students to grow as dancers and performers through weekly classes, master classes, and attending regional/ national dance festivals. The students are given opportunities to participate in multiple amazing performances each year. A beautiful place to have your child learn the art of dance. 😊

As a former dancer and teacher of SPAA, I can’t put into words how much this place means to me. It will always be my home. I grew up here and have the most fondest memories here. The directors and teachers gave me the tools and resources to be successful as a teacher and competition dance coach. I love it here. It’s family.

I signed my daughter up for hip-hop for half a year. I specified that my daughter would not be able to perform in the end recital. I was charged $75 for a costume that we never received. Then, after contacting them several times, they refused to assist nor refund us. They should have told me my daughter would be required to stay until the end and couldn't do a half program. Regardless, ignoring customers and stealing is wrong.

I had been dancing here for the past 15 years and I wouldn't have it any other way. The teaching staff and the owners genuinely care about the students and their progression with dance and in life overall. This has been my second home for years and everyone has always been like a family to me. Even after parting with the studio, the girls, and the owners and I have a rest relationship. I could never imagine myself anywhere else growing up
