Services
After a seven-month-long search for the right location and a year-long construction process, we are happy to announce our new office is ready for your visit in the Friendly-Holden building. Near the Tanger Bicentennial Garden and Friendly Shopping Center, access is easy from Holden Road, Friendly Avenue or nearby Wendover Avenue.
It has been well-documented that talking in closed spaces releases viral particles into the air; which can cause staff to become infected; staff could then spread the illness to hundreds of patients before demonstrating symptoms. The waiting room has been closed. Please call us when you arrive; we will let you know when to come in.
Referral: a request from a healthcare professional or school nurse that a child see Dr. Patel for an eye examination based on symptoms or testing. Eye Emergencies: If you have an eye emergency, go to the nearest emergency room for evaluation. Dr. Patel may be contacted by the ER once the problem is stabilized, for evaluation or followup in clinic.
Important Referral Notes: some insurances require that we obtain a consult note from the primary care provider. Notes also help ensure that we see the patient in the appropriate time frame, especially given that we are often booking months out. In order to provide timely appointments and maintain efficient clinical flow, we will wait until we have received notes before scheduling the patient for an examination.
Vision Insurance: this is usually a separate policy, similar to dental insurance. Some common companies are VSP and EyeMed. This type of insurance covers a basic eye examination and is intended for people who have a need for glasses to help them achieve 20/20 vision, but do not necessarily have eye health problems.

My experience with Dr. Grace Patel and her staff was very impressive. My son RJ age 8 was a new patient and very nervous about his visit. When we arrived to check in he expressed that to staff. Both ladies reassured him that he would like Dr. Patel and that she would take good care of him. When Dr. Patel entered the room ready to start her examination, she patiently listen to RJ's concerns as well as mine and addressed each one professionally and thoroughly. Dr. Patel expertise goes without saying. Afterwards, she took the time to allow RJ to tell her a joke that if she lost he would "own her office

Highly recommend Dr. Patel and her office! I was referred to her for a consultation and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and outcome! She was very attentive and made sure I knew what was going on the whole time, she made sure all of my questions were answered, and she definitely is very skilled in what she does! Very happy with my experience here 10/10 would definitely recommend!

We have been seeing Dr. Patel since our daughter was 7 months old. She is now almost 5. We moved away from the area, but still choose to drive 2+ hrs just to see her for follow up visits. Top notch care at every visit by every staff member. We never leave with a question unanswered and usually get some sort of hand drawn diagram of the eye to help us understand. Would highly recommend for pediatric eye issues!

We have had such a great experience with Dr Grace Patel. She is thorough and patient, willing to answer all of our questions and put are concerns to rest, we never felt rushed. During his recent strabismus surgery we were completely at ease and trusted our sons eyes were in the best hands. Everything turned out great and his eyes are doing better than we even expected! We highly recommend Dr Grace and wouldn’t go anywhere else.
