Acupuncture is an ancient healing art form, included along with Herbal Medicine, Cupping, Gua-sha, and other various modalities under the umbrella of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It involves the insertion of very fine needles into specific points on the body. These acupuncture points were discovered over many hundreds, if not thousands of years ago.
It's a very frequent question - just how DOES acupuncture work? And the short answer is.nobody really knows, yet. But studies are continually being done, so hopefully we will narrow in on the mechanism of action, and the skeptics will be convinced.

Unlike allopathic medicine, where headaches are treated with aspirin, cholesterol is lowered with a statin drug, and insomnia is treated with a sleep aid without taking into account the individual nature of the person suffering from the problem, an acupuncture treatment is customized to suit the needs of the patient.
A: No! The needles are very, very small. They are nothing like the hollow needles that are used in blood draws and injections, as they are solid. In fact, they are so thin that they bend. At worst, you might feel a small pinch when the needle goes in, but as soon as it is beneath the surface of the skin, you typically won't feel the needle at all.

Katherine is amazing! She is compassionate and very knowledgeable. My son had a horrible cough for nearly a year. We went to all kinds of doctors and they couldn’t figure it out. Got a acupuncture package from Katherine at the end of the summer, which allowed me to come in for a session every week for just over a month. I don’t usually allow myself the luxury of scheduling sessions so frequently but let me tell you what a difference it made! My energy was up, my hormones regulated, spirits lifted. I have been treating with Katherine since my move from NYC 5 years ago. She is a true healer with incredible talent. She helps regulate my thyroid, supported a healthy pregnancy, labor and delivery and provided postpartum care. She regularly treats my baby and toddler providing relief from colds and constipation issues. I am so lucky to have found her and cannot recommend her enough. We are lucky to have someone with her talent in this area, 5 stars is not enough!!
