My name is Datso Perkins, and I am the owner of D. Perkins Events, a small event design and planning boutique, with many years of experience coordinating events of all sizes. Our design aesthetic is very classic with modern sensibilities. With your guidance and design dreams at heart, we will help you create an event that will be timelessly elegant.
Reusable materials (linens, china, silverware etc.) and natural decorations (flowers, lots of flowers!) are very important to us and we strive to be environmentally friendly and leave as little waste behind as possible. We have great relationships with the top vendors in our area, and we are always willing and excited to work with new or out of the area vendors.

Services
As a lifelong resident of Humboldt and Mendocino Counties, I have many personal connections with private venues you won't find on Google and I will do all the legwork to find the perfect venue for your event. I can handle any requests from arranging for you to have a first look in a private redwood grove, or a post nuptial ride on a classic Harley.
Design is a huge focus of D. Perkins Events. I have an education in graphic design and I love to garden and create. I hand make custom items for clients and events regularly, everything from stationery to large custom furniture for your event, provide fresh flowers from my gardens seasonally, and of course pulling together the overall design of the event so that it all blends beautifully.
We have an assortment of rentals ranging from vintage, mid century modern, boho, to farmhouse. Our rentals are perfect for smaller weddings, elopements, or accent pieces at larger events. The selection is quality over quantity at this point, but we are always adding more for when we can hold large events again.

I cannot express how grateful I am for Datso and her planning! We had to postpone our destination wedding from 2020 to 08/2021. She handled my postponed wedding planning/organizing for me with ease. She helped me so much with finding new vendors in the area when my previous vendors had either gone out of business because of the pandemic. She is very calm, organized, professional, and creative. She made our wedding day perfect! I highly recommend using D. Perkins Events for your wedding and planning. She was absolutely wonderful and I feel very lucky that I had her!

We attended an absolutely beautiful wedding in June 2021 that Datso had planned. It was stressful timing with Covid, but they pulled it off with a smaller guest list in a lovely, open venue and it felt safe. Everything was perfect, down to the last detail. The venue was beautiful, the food and bar and DJ were spot on and the photography/video was outstanding. I would highly recommend D. Perkins Events for events in our beautiful neck of the woods!

Datso went above and beyond helping us to plan multiple weddings that unfortunately never happened due to coronavirus. While we went in a much smaller direction in the end, I would highly recommend D Perkins Events because of their extensive knowledge of the Humboldt County area, their warm and professional demeanor, and their flexibility in dealing with changes during unprecedented times.

Datso was great with last minute changes and execution of vision. She helped to fill in where others fell short and remained composed when issues had arisen. My guest very much enjoyed her take on Rustic Elegance with the use of farm tables, vignettes and even fresh eucalyptus cuttings from her neck of the woods. Professional, punctual and poised, D.
