Did you know the foot has 26 bones, 33 joints, 107 ligaments, 19 muscles, and numerous tendons? These parts all work together to allow the foot to move in a variety of ways while balancing your weight and propelling you forward or backward on even or uneven surfaces. It is no wonder that 75 percent of all Americans will experience foot problems at one point or another in their lifetimes.

My insurance changed and I tried Kaiser 5 years later and my feet were so bad they WOULD not make orthotics for me. Went back to Kirby and pain in cash. Well worth it. Now 5 years later I need a new pair and went to North Bay, (what my current insurance is) and my podiatrist couldn't believe Kirby made my orthotics.

I’m very happy with my experience with Dr.Kirby and his staff I had bunion/hammertoe surgery on both my feet, still being young Dr. Kirby not only relieved my pain but gave me confidence I never had by fixing the deformity in my feet. I love his old school ways and I couldn’t have come across a better doctor. Thank you Dr. Kirby!

Dr. Kirby is Board Certified and is an skilled and knowledgeable physician. I did a lot of research before making a decision and he has excellent credentials.
Great personality and very caring- you will be in good hands with Dr Kirby. The office staff is friendly and helpful.
I had bunion surgery and had minimal pain. I am healing quickly and hope to be back at yoga soon.

After researching numerous podiatrists I am so happy I decided to go to Dr. Kirby. He’s been in practice for over many years. He was kind and made me feel calm through the whole process. I limped for about 3 months and my husband urged me to get it checked. With one look Dr. Kirby knew right away what it was. He went through some options and answered all of my questions. I agreed to the procedure, he removed the deep wart and after 3 days I started walking again! I really liked my experience with Dr. Kirby and will be recommending him to others.

Dr. Kirby was great. I filled out the paperwork before I came, so I was ready. We arrived a little early (30 minutes), but was able to be seen within 15 minutes. The front desk lady was nice and helpful.
He knew exactly what the issue was when he examined my foot. He was very straight to the point with no guessing. He modified my shoe inserts for me which helped. Then he said to ice everyday and stay off the foot for 3 weeks and see how I feel. He also recommended some sandals to wear around the house; the Oofos frrom Fleet Feet. That will be our next stop.
The consultation fee was reasonable

Dr. Kirby is the best podiatrist I’ve been to. His orthotics are the only set that haven’t hurt my poor feet. I had a bunion surgery by him three months ago. Recovery was excellent. After surgery was almost painless, he knows how to use pain control. Nothing but 5 stars!! Thanks Dr Kirby. One more thing. I run into his clients on the street all the time. That’s how popular he is.

I have made several visits to Doctor Kirby for cracked heels covered by Workers Compensation, and other foot issues. I find Doctor Kirby to be very knowledgeable, and informative. Dr. Kirby is a podiatrist with years of experience, who I feel very comfortable with. His staff is very friendly and low key. Dr. Kirby has ample parking for patients off of Scripp's Drive. As far as podiatrists go, I feel he is as, or more qualified then all the other podiatrists in the area.

Do not believe one word of the two negative reviews. Dr. Kirby lacks knowledge about sports and athletes? He was an excellent athlete in his younger days. Just check out the pictures on the wall in his office. He was a talented distance runner. Rude? Please..... He is a serious, businesslike bottom line guy. He's not the type of guy who when he sees you is going to slap you on the back and say: "Hey buddy! Howz it goin'" Both talented and average local runners swear by him. He is not out to make as much money as he can off of you-- he has plenty of business. Example: at the end of one of my visits

I saw Dr. Kirby over ten years ago because I had injured my feet, and was unable to walk long distances without pain. He took moulds of my feet, observed my walking style, and created custom orthotics for my shoes. Happily, the pain completely disappeared, and I've since been able to enjoy walking again. I recently visited his office again to have my orthotic refreshed, and to order another one. Dr. Kirby is very dedicated and knowledgeable. He answered my questions, and spent a reasonable amount of time with me. It's obvious that he loves his work. Even his office is decorated with interesting

Walking boots and anti inflammatories, too often.
I finally asked my excellent Kaiser Podiatrist (Dr. Collman) for 'anyone' to help me.
I live in the Bay area. ... if...... I would travel to Sacramento... I should see Dr. Kirby.

I saw Dr Kirby for some new orthotics and he is the best Dr. around. I read a negative comment about him and just have to say that he is very funny and really doesn't pull punches when making a reference to feet. If they are messed up he will let you know what to do to ease the pain but lets face it, we do not go to a Podiatrist because we have perfect feet. We go because we need help. If you want a tremendous Podiatrist then go to Dr. Kirby. The office staff are top notch as well. Just an all around professional experience

Dr Kirby is the best!! He performed my foot surgery Dec 2014. He told me exactly what was my problem and he fixed it. He is kind, professional, and funny! I have not had any problems with my foot that I had been experiencing prior to my surgery. HIs staff is great. This is one doctor office I enjoy visiting.

Dr. Kirby practically saved my life. I was passed over to him from a very pathetic Dr and so I know the difference between good and bad. In my first visit with Dr. Kirby he knew what was going on with my condition and started the proper treatment right away. I have been a consistent patient for almost 3 yrs now and thanks to the services of his expertise as well as the wonderful office staff I have been at peace with my diagnosis and treatment. Three months ago (May 2014), Dr. Kirby performed double Bunionectomy surgery on my feet. I'm thrilled with the results and highly recommend Dr. Kirby to anyone who is in need of the services of a top notch podiatrist/surgeon. I had very little post surgical pain, very little scaring and he was prompt in calling me the very next day to check in with me to see how I was feeling. Dr. Kirby and his office staff are friendly, professional and responsive. Three months later I'm completely pain free and my feet look great!!! You have a very satisfied patient!! Dr. Kirby rocks!
He helped me with a torn tibial tendon issue that had the podiatrists at a big time health center stumped.
I was really treated well by him and his office staff.
It's been awhile, but I will always remember the great care I received and recommend his office highly.

I have suffered with foot pain for years, bunions ..plantar fasciitis... Dr. Kirby has helped me so much with orthotics & bunion surgery now i can begin to walk with minimal pain, and wear average shoes. I am so grateful for Dr. Kirby's knowledge and years of experience, his quick wit along with his wonderful staff that makes it a pleasure to go to his office every time! I have suffered for years with plantar fasciitis and heel spurs on both feet. I've had several rounds on cortisone injections over the years with only some relief. I'm now pain free. Dr. Kirby used a combo of cortisone injections, custom orthodics and suggested home treatments. I wasn't very hopeful but Dr. Kirby has made the most improvement in my feet of all the doctors I've seen.
It took a little while for him to make my orthodics so he suggested an over the counter brand in the interim, I brought them in and Dr. kirby modified them for me. My feet feel great!!! It&apos

I was referred to Dr. Kirby by my Kaiser podiatrist for custom orthotics for treatment of plantar fasciitis. Every time I asked him a question about my condition or the solution, his pat answer was "I've done this over 15,000 times in my career". Well, sorry to inconvenience you, but this is my first time. I found him to be rude, arrogant and patronizing. I've spoken with one other female patient who had the same opinion. The verdict is uncertain if this is how he treats all patients or just women. I'm also still uncertain if these custom $350 orthotics will be of
