I have been going to Ethan for many years now. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my taxes. Not only is he and the rest of the staff professional and responsive, they are also very pleasant to work with. The staff, especially Megan, is readily available to answer any questions I may have. Nothing but good things to say about Ethan and his team!

I had always been very pleased with his tax preparation and efficiency . I had always done well by him.. I am not sure what is going on with him now ..I am very disappointed..I still have not received my tax return ..I have contacted his office several times and I can not get past his secretary .I have not heard back from Ethan in months since our initial conversation in April . I have gone to I his office in person several times and no one was there .
I am considering reporting to the Better Business

I wish I could give zero stars. We were told that our 2018 taxes would be filed on time in April. It is now mid-June and we have no confirmation that they were filed at all. Neither our tax preparer Bob nor the owner Ethan will tell us what is going on. I do not recommend this office. You're better off filing yourself or with another office.

I had been going there for 3 years but last year my return was audited. I filed my return in february, and was asked for additional information in march. Then I couldn't find out anything for months. I left numerous messages at Ethan Sawyers but no-one ever returned my calls until May when a secretary lm saying i would get a letter. Nothing ever came, i finally got my return in june. very stressful. i am in my seventies and the only difference in my return that year was that i worked less hours and was entitled to a larger refund. i am switching to another firm in Melrose. I have been going to Ethan for a few years now. Tax season used to be a time of anxiety and worry for me; no longer! I am much calmer knowing that my taxes are done correctly (he found a mistake the first year and got me a huge refund). He is also a nice person, which makes an hour of sitting and talking about finances less painful than it could be!
After the appointment this year, I received a folder in the mail with all the completed forms, pre-addressed envelopes with vouchers for the payments I need to make, and a letter clearly outlining exactly what to do. Absolutely wonderful feeling knowing

I came to Ethan for help a few years ago with a mistake I had made in my previous year's taxes. He figured out right away what I had done wrong and fixed it easily. I work with him every year because he knows exactly what he's doing and makes the process easy. More importantly, he is a SUPER nice person. I never thought I'd look forward to meeting with a tax person but I do! Strongly recommend!

This guy Ethan simply forgot to send in my taxes until almost 2 months after the deadline. Did not call me to inform about it, did not say a word until I stepped in his office and asked about the return because it'd been so long. All he said was 'sorry' and he didn't even do anything to compensate for it... ridiculous. I feel like I have been robbed 185 very expensive dollars. It's an absolutely NO NO.

My husband and I worked with Ethan based off of Yelp and other online recommendations. He was friendly and knowledgeable. However he was very unresponsive by email and phone, and I had to drive the whole process. The night before Tax Day he still hadn't sent us the forms to sign. If you are ok with lags between communication and last minute filing Ethan may be fine for you, but we decided to hire a tax professional so that we wouldn't have to worry about timelines and necessary documents for our filing.

I can't say how happy and appreciative I am for the services I received. Ethan Sawyer was able to see me right when i called. Had recently moved to Saugus and looking to have my Tax return done. Look online and found Ethan Sawyer was close by and glad I did. He generously took his time to thoroughly go through my tax return and any questions that I may have. We spend about 1 hour to go through everything. He was very professional and know his stuff. Can't recommend him enough! I had a fairly specific, straightforward tax question (I needed help estimating my tax payments for the year) so I went to Yelp and emailed a few different highly-rated tax professionals. I got no responses from some and convoluted sales pitches from others. But from Ethan, I got a timely, concise reply with a fair estimate of the cost and an invitation for an appointment. The scheduling was easy and hassle-free -- I even had to change my appointment time the day of because my son was sick, and they were very nice about giving me the only other open slot that day
