I was told this place was fast and reliable... I have seen the complete opposite they have taken they're sweet time fixing my car I have never had a car shop take over a week to put 4 tires and a new battery in LITERALLY A JOKE AND WILL NOT EVER BE RETURNING. Could've done it myself in a day rather then wait almost 2 weeks

If you are looking for a straight shooting auto shop in Anchorage, then Big O's Automotive is the place to go.
They have never given me a hard sell on any work that was needed. They even refer me out to other places in town when they are not the experts.
The simple projects are a breeze here too, like alignment or tire changes.

One of the best car repair experience I've ever had. I called when they opened today to get an appointment for brake work. I was told to come in and they would try to fit me in. I arrived there and was greeted very friendly. I explained the reason for repair and was willing to wait knowing it was short notice. My car was taken in quickly and they even offered to drop me at home. I stayed around and the scope of work was explained to me. It was completed fairly quickly and there was no push for any type of extra work. Past experience with other repair places they really try to add on work.

What a great auto shop! Was really impressed with the cleanliness and setup of the garage and waiting area. Water, coffee, treats, and magazines all available, are really nice touches. Had a basic maintenance checkup. Great, knowledgeable service from everyone. Definitely recommend this shop for your auto needs!

I took my vehicle here on personal recommendations from friends and family, but also based off yelp reviews. Typically I get my repairs at a local chain, but wanted to support local on this.
I gave a detailed list of things needed to be repaired on my vehicle. I specified I wanted a call for an estimate as well before the work would be done.
I did not receive a call. I dropped my vehicle off at 8am and finally called around 2pm to see what the status of the estimate was. Come to find out my car was already being worked on. I asked if there was an estimate of total cost and was told no. Ok?..

I took a "new" , (for me) 96 ford in to have it checked out before I began being the third owner of this well taken care of car, I wanted to have hoses, tuneup, steering, brakes, etc...all checked out.
I took in a red top steering box, to have it installed, ( great product)
I left spending less than I expected to.
They informed me the tune up items, were all new already, and everything i asked to have checked out, checked out as new-ish. No need to work on it.

Friends that I trust recommended Big O's when I had some recent car trouble. It was a great experience from top to bottom. Everyone was friendly, kind and communicated clearly. The most amazing thing? It came in way under the original quote for repairs.
I had the car towed in, so I hadn't even seen their facility until I picked up the vehicle today. Seeing how clean it was blew my mind. These folks have it dialed in, and I know where to go (and who to recommend) regarding car repairs.

This is the best place in town for auto repair, tires or anything to do with your car or truck. They are the most honest auto repair place I have ever been. I will never go anywhere else. Their shop is very clean and they know what they are doing. If they cannot fix your car they will know of a reputable place that will. I LOVE Big O's~! They are all straight up with you over there and that is hard to find in an auto repair place in this town.

Took my 10 year old, mechanically neglected car into Big O's on a Monday. I complained that the heat was low, the rear window wiper wasn't working, it needed an oil change, and that the car was vibrating when in gear. Said it probably needed a tune up. Was called later that day, told nothing was wrong with it, they did an oil change and added some fluids.
To fix the wiper, they quoted me $950 to fix the Smart Junction Control Module under the center shift console. When I picked it up, they again said that there was nothing wrong with it, no vibration at all. The guy helping me

Cons: far to drive (they are located near Merrill Field & I am near Abbott)
Comments: I came to Big O's a little over a year ago go. They did great work but they were too far away from where I live.
I chose to go to a couple shops closer by and have regretted it. They did fine work but I never got the feeling that I was their number one priority. The straw that broke the camels back, was an experience with a local dealership. I recently bought a used truck and wanted it to be

I've been having Big O's work on our cars since the 80's. These guys have been around forever and have built a solid reputation in Anchorage. Jeff, at the front desk, has been there at least 25 years. They may not be the cheapest auto repair shop in town, but hands down I believe they're the best. The repair estimates are always much better than the dealer shops, and they stick to them. Their work is guaranteed. In the very few instances where I've had to come back with a concern after a repair, the concern is addressed, no charge, period. Big O's is part of the community

Great guys that do a great job taking care of folks. I ran over a screw yesterday and this morning I called them to see if they had any appts. The took me right away. 20 mins later they had my tire fixed and I was on my way for free. They definitely make me want to go back with any other automotive issues. It's good to find good folks that will treat you fair.
