Divorce should be simple. We will help you disentangle your personal, business, and parental needs to create a plan that affords you success as an independent person.
Once your mind is made up, the attorney will help you disentangle personal and business finances, plan for parental responsibilities (how you and your partner will make decisions for the kids and share time in their best interests), arrange for child support and spousal maintenance (aka alimony)-create a plan that affords you success as an independent person.

Usually, all parties in child custody situations believe they are advocating for the best interests of the child. Unfortunately, there are often differences in where the best interests lie and that is why this issue in particular can become highly emotional. When parents or guardians cannot agree, the court will determine what is in the child's best interests.
Child support cases most commonly arise during a divorce or custody case, but they can be brought independently under the children's code and may include a request for retroactive support and birthing costs. We handle modification and enforcement cases, and if you have concerns about the paying parent's compliance, you should talk about this early on, as preventative measures should be taken.
Physically separating from your spouse is different from a Legal Separation. A Legal Separation is very similar to a divorce. The Court will issue a Decree of Legal Separation just like it would a Decree of Dissolution of Marriage (aka divorce). In doing so, it will usually make orders for children, child support and spousal support (alimony), and property division.

When I found myself in need of a lawyer for my divorce (which included two teens to provide for) I had interviewed several lawyers. I am so happy that I chose Mariah! She worked diligently from start to finish on my case. Not only did she help me understand each step and decision, she helped me to find my strength to secure what was best for myself and the kids. Mariah is knowledge, professional and throughout the process I felt supported and protected. I am happy with the terms of our agreements and my divorce is finally behind me. If you need a family law lawyer that truly puts you and the kids

Mariah and her team were so wonderful to work with! Mariah was very professional, and fought for me all the way to the end of my case. What I admired most about how she handled my case was when my ex-husband’s attorney tried adding pettiness to the case, Mariah didn’t let it drag us down. She had a job to do, and she was determined to win. I would highly recommend Mariah and her team!
