Sichuan Gourmet is an authentic Sichuan-style restaurant founded in the summer of 2002. With the joint effort of the owner and a renowned chef in the area of Sichuan cuisine, the development of the restaurant has been quite rapid. Within two short years in the Boston area, the restaurant is blooming, becoming a major window to the exciting Sichuanese culture.
Founder Mr. Li Zhong and Mr. Liu Lijun are all natives of Chengdu, a major city in Sichuan. Their time there has made him familiar with all aspects of Sichuan, from its people, to its geography, and to its culture. In particular, both have a deep comprehension and mastery of Sichuan cuisine.

The Sharon Sichuan Gourmet location is by far our favorite! Moving out from Boston, we were worried about not having access to good, authentic Chinese food, but we were pleasantly surprised to stumble across this gem! Our favorites include: double cooked bacon, stir fry green beans, and Sichuan boiled fish fillet.
The people who work here are incredibly nice, the food is fantastic, and we always recommend our friends to check them out! Highly recommend.

A complete dissapointment. Was served burned rice, when asked to have it replaced was served undercooked, mostly white and still partially burned rice (see picture of second attempt). Order #2, beef lo mein,… had almost no beef. Order #3, beef brocolli (take home) rice was undercooked. All three dishes laked flavor. Been there before and the quality has deteriorated greatly.

I visited Sichuan Gourmet three times. Among the dishes I have, I recommend:
- Tan Tan (or dan dan) Noodles: they serve cold and spicy tan tan noodles that are not in soup. I was surprised because I am more familiar with tan tan noodles with soup but this was very delicious.
- Mapo Tofu: you can't go wrong with this order and they do a good job
- Kung Bao Chicken: I am not a big fan of kung bao chicken but theirs is very crispy and tasty
- chengdu street food: It has an interesting "fire" taste and I recommend it if you want something spicy and salty

My family was visiting from California (where authentic Chinese is abundant) and we had low expectations, but were so pleasantly surprised by this place! It was sad to see the big open dining room so empty, because you could taste the heart and authenticity in every dish! Even my very picky dad (born and raised in Chengdu) had no complaints. The chili oil dumplings and seafood tofu clay pot are a must!! Will definitely come back whenever I'm in Boston and craving a taste of home.

I really don't like leaving bad reviews, but everything I ordered (Chinese cabbage, basil eggplant, and house special fried rice) was VERY bland & underwhelming -- no kick, spice, salt, or savory. Just... nothing.
We ordered takeout so we were stuck with what we got, so if you do the same, maybe try the food before leaving, or clarify ahead of time that you want extra chilis, Szechuan oil, etc.

Really great Sichuan with large portions! Service was really good as well, we had a really nice young lady server, she was very patient and answered all our questions. It wasn't too busy on a weeknight, and the food out quickly. I thought it was all really good an authentic. Can't remember what our dishes were called, but I loved it all. Will def be back to eat again!

Ordered delivery from Chowbus. I will have to say the tastes of the dishes were a pleasant surprise!
Ma Po Tofu is the best! Right amount of spiciness and the portion is huge! The whole tub was filled with tofu cubes!! Def worth the price.
The fish fillet with black pepper was an ok tho. I was expecting a strong Chinese pepper flavor which give you that numbing feeling. But it was only spicy and savory. Not too much other flavors there.
The Sichuan dumplings are great!! Super tasty and the sauce was flavorful! Exactly what I tasted in China!
Will def come back again!

Remains as one of most Favourite restaurants in Brookline. I was craving for lotus root and wantan on Sunday evening and Sichuan Gourmet delivered in an amazing way.
We ordered the spicy wantan in Szechuan chili sauce and the mixed vegetables savory pot.
The pick up order on the phone was incredibly easy and my food was prepared in record time. And when I picked up my food, the packing was very well thought of where the savory pot was in a foil container and a cardboard "coaster" to keep it from collapsing. Another thing I loved was the fact that there was not anything extra like chopsticks

Fantastic spot for takeout or delivery. We ordered from here multiple times during the holidays. Our favorite dishes were- dried chicken with chili sauce, eggplant with Yu Xiang sauce, vegetable fried rice, Sichuan string beans, and chicken lo mein. Most dishes can be made extra spicy. Thanks for a great experience, Sichuan Gourmet!

First time trying this place. We ordered the General Tso's Chicken take out. Very average tasting Asian fast food. The reason I am giving it two stars is that the amount of food for the price is definitely not worth it. It didn't even come with rice or any vegetables!! We paid $14.93 for just the chicken!!!! I don't think the quality of the food reflects that price point.

Can't believe I never wrote a review! I visited here last summer and really liked it. While the price is slightly more expensive, the serving size is generous. I especially like the spicy fish fillet dish. Super delicious!
I also got to try the pork & eggplant and ma po tofu, both super tasty! Unlike your typical Chinese restaurant, this place offers a full bar service including cocktails and hard liquor. Highly recommend this place!

Surprised by the mixed reviews of Sichuan Gourmet but I am a huge fan and am glad it's in the neighborhood. I can say from the perspective of flavors & authenticity and as well as my fiance's variety of Americanized dishes he's tried - the St. Mary's neighborhood is lucky to have Sichuan Gourmet.
From General Tso's & Mandarin Chicken to Beef Noodle Soup, Steamed Bacon w. Fresh Garlic Sauce (蒜泥白肉), Bamboo Shoots in Spicy Wonder Sauce, Spicy Wontons in Chili Sauce, & Sichuan Cold Noodles (Liang Pi 川味涼麵) - Sichuan Gourmet covers it all and does

I visited Sichuan Gourmet for a banquet dinner some time ago. The food I tried was generally fine but not particularly good. Spice levels were quite low.
The dishes we had were (as best as I can remember):
J03. Sichuan kung bao chicken ($12.95) - really sweet kung pao chicken. Way less spicy that I would have expected from a Sichuan restaurant.
F10. Crispy fish fillet with sweet & sour sauce ($21.95) - this Cantonese style dish was relatively popular at our table.
J14. House special duck ($16.50) - fine
V03. Sichuan style string beans ($11.50) - soft and mushy rather than dry fried

I had one of the worst experience in this restaurant. I had two dishes, and one of them was not properly made or it had no flavor at all. Like it is bland. The second part was what when I was paying the bill. I wrote down on the receipt that I didn't put any tip on it. The woman came back and asked me if there was a tip. (If she would have looked,… there was a tip on the table) But she YELLED at me and said YOU DON'T HAVE TIP FOR ME. This was a very loud voice. I was never humiliated like that for 20 years now. The worst part. I went back the next day to complain to the manager. He seems

This is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants. Whenever you come here, the place is packed. But even if you have to wait, it won't be long.
We have a set list of favorites and that's what we get every time. The xiang la dry fish fillet, ma po tofu and veggie fried rice. The xiang la fish fillet is a dry dish, flavored with chili oil, garlic and Sichuan peppercorn. We usually request for no peppercorn because if you bite into even one, your tongue is numb thereafter! But this dish is one tasty treat. So is their ma po tofu. It has a lot of chili flakes so we request it to be mild. All
