Attic Salt Theatre
We at Attic Salt Theatre Company stand by the principles of and in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement. As an organization, we value the talents and knowledge base of the POC actors, teachers and administrators that we've called colleagues and friends over the past two decades. We're proud the decades of work we've done teaching students in communities of color, and the relationships we developed with The Partnership for Inner-City Schools over our many years working in New York City.
Services
To us, good performance begins with good writing. Our performances begin with solid scripts and our school programs all have creative writing at their roots. The importance of writing is reflected in our name. ATTIC SALT (n): Particularly acute, graceful, biting wit, as embodied in the satirical comedies of Aristophanes.
Parking in front of the building (on Riverside Drive) can be tricky during regular work hours. If there is room in front, park where it says 2002 in big numbers. Go in and follow signs to Attic Salt. As an alternative, pull behind the building. Park near the yurts or at the far south end of the building.
Ritch is taking the show on the road, but he needs to work some of the material before he does. This workshop production is absolutely FREE to attend! Ritch Shydner's funny and insightful multi-media presentation about the history of an original American art form, stand-up comedy, and what all the jokes and laughter say about America.
We have amazing corporate sponsors who help us! The are fantastic local businesses that help local businesses like ours. If you find yourself in need of any of these services, please consider contacting these wonderful companies. They are the ones that help us pay our performers a living wage while still keeping our tickets at only $5 (and grandparents are FREE!)
No matter what your skill level, Attic Salt is ready to help you get the most out of theater classes. Throughout 2017 we will be adding new classes for adults and for kids as young as four years old. Our goal is to have a full roster of acting, improvisation, musical theater performance, voice-over work, and movement classes.

Dinner with friends is remarkably thought-provoking, it’s close to home for married divorced dating, remarkable work that was ridiculously well performed, the presentation & memory of these actors was off the scale.

Wonderful space for innovative entertainment. The Attic Salt Theater Company does amazing work in schools providing arts education to students who otherwise have little to no exposure to performing arts education

Attic Salt Theatre Company produces original content and excellent shows! We have especially liked all their children’s shows, using folklore and tales to educate and entertain children of all ages (and us adults too). Thank you for being such an asset to our community. Love theatre!
