It was meant to be. My husband John works a full-time job and I was a Realtor, at the time. I was asked by the owners of a flower shop to help them sell their building in Downtown Howell. It was in 2008 when the economy was at a low point. I had it listed for 2 years and had 5 deals that fell through.

Went in and bought items to send to our son who’s in the Army out of state. The staff was extremely friendly. Unfortunately somewhere between the store and warehouse our basket got lost before it was shipped. Ellen called and apologized and had me come back and pick out the items again. She refunded my purchase and even covered the shipping.

It has been a few years since we last visited and it is still as charming as ever! We picked up a few curios to take on our overseas research trip to give as gifts. Plus our son and daughter have moved out of state and we found some perfect gifts to send them so they remember with fondness their home state.

I gave four stars, but this is purely a review of their pasty, which was three stars. I didn't want to take their rating down because the shop is definitely a cool place with a lot of Michigan stuff to check out.
As for the pasty, my main qualm is that they didn't have a fresh pasty when I went, despite signs outside saying so and claims on their website that they have them. Sorry, I swear I'm nice.
But for the Pasty Guy, the pasty was good. The beef pasty, it knocks off all of my pasty check boxes: looks like a pasty, smells like a pasty and tastes like a pasty. The crust was

This place has some awesome Knick Knacks and general michigan gear! There were some pretty interesting things in the store that I didn't realize were from michigan. If you get a chance be sure to check out the pumpkin ice cream it's amazing!!! Will be back for more of it for sure! Also good to know they carry the raspberry jam I enjoy so much. This will save me from having to drive to Ann Arbor to get the kind I like! Very friendly staff as well!

This store rocks for all things related to Michigan!
Shopping here makes me feel so happy knowing I am supporting a business that is 100% Pure Michigan. I could spend a ton of money in here shopping for gifts and more. My favorite section is the food! Lots of snacks, jams, tea, coffee, honey and more, and all locally made. There's even fresh-made pasties and local ice cream, too. The word on the street is a Michigan beer section will be coming soon, too. I really cannot wait for that :)

I love this store! I always feel welcomed there and even though it is a small store I am in there for a while looking at all the products made right here in mi. I guess a lot of the michigan stores actually buy items from other states :( But she assures me that this is all local stuff. I always buy some new kind of soap and get some ice cream.
