Services
Sky Creek Dharma Center was founded in 2004, when Amos Clifford determined to realize his dream of starting an American-style Buddhist meditation facility in Chico, Calif. His goal was to provide a permanent location for the several local Buddhist meditation groups then meeting in yoga studios, churches, members' homes and other less-than-ideal locations.

Slowly Ripening Sangha practices Zen Buddhism in the tradition of the Vietnamese monk, scholar, author and poet Thich Nhat Hanh. It is affiliated with the Order of Interbeing and its hundreds of sanghas throughout the world. Begins with an hour of meditation-two sits and one walk. After a short tea break, we return for a brief ceremony, a reading or a discussion of our individual practices.
The Heart of the Lotus Sangha practices Vipassana, or Insight, meditation and is affiliated with The Mountain Stream Meditation Center of Nevada City. The Heart of the Lotus Sangha was started in 2002 ago by Tracy McDonald at the suggestion of our root teacher, John Travis. Since 2011, we have been a peer led group, with leadership rotating among a pair of members each six months.
