Carol Lawless founded Sand Hill Fine Gardening & Landscaping in 2004, but she started her horticulture career in the late 1980s working in the Bicentennial Garden in Greensboro. Carol was one of four people who developed the Greensboro Arboretum in Lindley Park from the ground up. Before starting Sand Hill, Carol worked as a landscape supervisor for the City of Greensboro, overseeing the city government building grounds.

My wife and I hired Sand Hill Landscaping for an extensive landscaping job that included removal of all shrubs and grass, amending and grading soil, irrigation system installation and then planting new shrubs and grass. All was performed by very experienced professionals that paid attention to every detail. We are extremely pleased with the outcome and highly recommend Sand Hill Landscaping.

Our experience with Sand Hill Gardening and Landscaping was amazing! Their crew of 2 insanely hardworking young men and their meticulous supervisor transformed our yard that had been eroding away for over a year. In 5 days, they added a French Drain all the way down into our woods, dug 13 feet across and 4 feet down to build the strongest retaining wall ever - with built in drainage! In addition the dug out and meticulously created the perfect pea gravel walkway that allows us to walk to our trash cans safely and easily. Our only wish is that they had a way to store their supplies on our property
