When Patrick Egan established P.A. Egan's Undertaking and Livery in 1859, he began a family tradition emphasizing personal, dignified, quality funeral service for a reasonable price. As times changed, so did personal preferences for funeral services. The limousine replaced the horse-drawn carriage, funeral services moved from private residences to funeral homes, and funeral directors became dedicated professionals.
Egan-Ryan Funeral Service is committed to provide assistance to families by caring for the deceased. We realize the death of a family member is a major event, and consider it an honor to be able to offer aid at this time. Service will be given with sacredness, respect, courtesy, technical expertise, and state of the art facilities and equipment.
Any major ceremony involves planning-- from births, to weddings, and even funerals. For many years, most people did not begin to actually plan funeral services until a death had occurred or was anticipated. In recent years however, society has begun to plan ahead for everything-- school tuition, first homes, retirement, and death.
EGAN-RYAN provides planning services to those who wish to prearrange their funeral. Selections can be made and a file created to guide your survivors without prepaying. Some people choose to prepay their funeral which guarantees its cost. Either choice gives "peace of mind" in the knowledge that surviving relatives can be free of making difficult decisions and that expenses may also have been provided for.
The basic Military Funeral Honors (MFH) ceremony consists of the folding and presentation of the United States flag to the veterans' family and the playing of Taps. The ceremony is performed by a funeral honors detail consisting of at least two members of the Armed Forces. The Funeral Honors rendered to you or your veteran will be determined by the status of the veteran.

Everything was arranged quickly and easily. We chose their location on Kenny Rd. (Columbus, Ohio) and it was very nice, clean and setup well. My only disappointment was the color of his skin….it appeared very grey…not a normal skin color for him. Everything we had requested (showing of photos, brief talks to be given by our daughter and son and and proceeding on to the cemetery immediately following his viewing) was well carried out.

Everyone (really, EVERYONE) at the Egan-Ryan family was so kind, helpful and considerate. They made a very difficult time in our lives much less overwhelming. This was our 3rd experience in 2 years with Egan-Ryan and we highly recommend them to you, too. We would use no one else. God bless them with many more years of service to our neighbors.

This is not Emily but Kathy Behrens. I would like to highly endorse Egan-Ryan Funeral Home for services needed for funeral arrangements. I found the staff compassionate and knowledgable and Kevin offered a timeline for a visitation and the arrangement for a transfer to another state for burial and helped the family meet it. Egan Ryan worked well and efficiently with the out-of-state funeral home as well. was pleased with the safety precautions suggested for the visitation and the extra care the staff took in making this difficult time as easy as possible for the family.

My family and I highly recommend Egan Ryan Funeral Service. We were treated so kindly by everyone. Bob Ryan helped us through every step. We never felt rushed trying to decide all the details. The day of the service they were amazing, we did not have to do anything, they even boxed up photos we set out! Bottom line this funeral home is top notch!

Our family would definitely recommend Egan-Ryan Funeral Home. They are so genuine and kind and made making plans for our loved ones funeral so easy. From making the initial plans to day of the funeral they took care of every detail. We can't begin explain how wonderful it was not to have to be concerned about anything, they handled it all and exactly the way we wanted. Thank you Bob Ryan for helping us with the flowers, they were absolutely beautiful as you said they would be. Special thanks to Victor for getting the photo added to the obituary.
