Catoctin Mtn Growers is located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Catoctin was started by Bob and Denise Van Wingerden in 1985, and the company is still owned and operated by the Van Wingerden family. For the first year, Bob and Denise were the only employees of Catoctin. They were both involved in every step of the process, including planting, growing, loading, and delivering the plants.
They would take turns with the different responsibilities, one would deliver the product while the other stayed and cared for the crops. As the company grew, they were able to hire a few neighbors to help build the business.

My building buys Poinsettas from this grower every December. This past December 2016 we got Poinsettas and the one that we received is still going strong and it is 21 Jul 17. I called to get information on how to keep it growing strong and was given great information by a yuoung man. They were so helpful and answered my questions and even gave me helpful tips.
