Jade Spring Acupuncture
The magic of acupuncture lies in the fact that it activates and boosts our body's own healing potential. We have this wonderful built-in system of self-repair and recovery and acupuncture is a key to unlocking that potential and focusing it on your health problem. With Chinese medicine we look for the underlying imbalance of your symptoms and treat the cause of the problem to create profound change.

An essential component of healing comes from self-empowerment, and I am interested in being a partner in creating your health. I believe that it is important that you understand what acupuncture is and does, and will explain the treatment process to you as we work together. I will advise you of self-care techniques to accelerate your healing, and will support you with any resources that I think will create balance.
Services
Acupuncture works by activating your body's own healing process. You are equipped with everything you need to heal and acupuncture is a way to tap into this amazing potential. Your body produces its own pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory substances, hormones, neuropeptides, and red and white blood cells to enable you to heal, and acupuncture boosts these processes and helps focus them on areas of concern.
Health is a complete state of harmony of the body, mind and spirit. When one is free of physical disabilities and mental distractions, the gates of the soul open. It is my experience that most health problems will show improvement with a course of 5-6 treatments, or 8-10 for a very chronic, difficult conditions.
Chinese herbs will accelerate your healing and is essential for creating long lasting improvement. Formulas are tailored to treat specific patterns and symptoms of imbalance and will enhance the work we do with acupuncture. Glass or plastic cups create suction on the skin and underlying tissue to soften muscular tension and separate the fascial and muscle layers.
What you do between appointments is an essential element of the success of your treatment. This is especially true at the beginning of the process, when the gains made during each session are still fragile and easily lost if you over-stress your body or fail to support its recovery. Making sure your body has lots of quality nutrients to work with while healing is essential.
I am a nurse and on my feet 12 hours a day. One day I pulled off one of my compression socks wrong and pulled a muscle in my hip area. I was unable to sit with my legs crossed for more than a minute before I had excruciating pain. With regular visits with Jennifer I have been able to help heal my very overworked TFL muscle through the use of e-stim, accupuncture, cupping, and massage.

Jenny is amazing! This was my first time ever seeing someone for acupuncture and she made me feel at ease especially since I hate needles. Now I look forward to appointments with her. Whether it be for back pain, pms, or stress she has me covered. Highly recommend going!

Jenny has always taken the time to listen to me as I catch her up on what's going on in my life and with my health, and she always knows exactly how to balance me out - even when I give her a laundry list! Jenny is an expert in her craft; I completely trust her. I always leave feeling so relaxed, refreshed, and balanced. I highly recommend her!

Jennifer is a thoughtful, knowledgeable practitioner who takes time with her clients and creates personalized treatment plans. She listens actively and is very responsive. She also takes time to clearly communicate her process and approach, as well as how to work through your own healthcare provider to file for reimbursement if possible. She's helped me with general pain in my shoulder and from a healing torn hamstring, as well as stress management. I highly recommend her.

A few years back, upon the recommendation of my Internal Medicine doc, I added Acupuncture to my health and well-being plan. I was fortunate to have found Jade Spring Acupuncture. Jenny Hicks is a sincere, caring, knowledgeable and experienced practitioner. As a 60-something woman, I have found the support provided by Chinese Medicine keeps the energy level up, the mind clear, and the negative effects of stress and aging from decreasing physical mobility and performance. I am very active and am convinced that regular treatments have prevented the appearance of physical and mental "slumps" that

Jenny is an amazing acupuncturist! I've been seeing her off and on as needed for several years. Prior to going to Jenny, I really liked acupuncture as a treatment; and I'd been to two other acupuncturists. While both previous people were good, Jenny has surpassed them. She is thorough, a good listener, and an excellent researcher into what ails you. I first started seeing her due to severe spring allergies, to hot flashes and stress, as well as prep for back surgery. I have sent more people than I can count to her. She has an amazing work ethic -- if she's gone as far as she can

If you are in the Denver area and find yourself in a body: an essential person for you to know is Jennifer Stevenson--intuitive, insightful, skilled acupuncturist. I have the good fortune of getting weekly treatments from Jenny who tunes up and balances whatever ails me that week. The broad range of things acupuncture addresses will surprise you. If it hurts or concerns you, acupuncture can help. Jenny has the gentlest manner, works in collaboration with your own intuition about your body and combines light massage with her treatments. I leave an hour session feeling like I've spent the day

Jennifer has been so wonderful in helping me manage my sleep/stress issues as well as dermatological problems (I have unexplainable rashes and swelling that show up on my face, around my eyes and lips). I have been seeing her for help in stress relief via acupuncture, as well as for Chinese herbs to help combat digestive issues that show on my skin. I am happy to have found alternative medicine with Jennifer at Jade Spring, because no Western medications, topical ointments, or therapies have helped with my skin problems.
I also saw Jennifer for a food sensitivity test, which has really helped

Amazing in every way!! i have been to a handful of acupuncturists overall, and by far jenny is the best. not only is she deeply knowledgeable and skilled in the science of traditional chinese medicine, but she also has a light touch with the needles and a compassionate way of talking with you to best support your needs. if it were possible to give more than 5 stars, i would.

the office is also lovely - simple, spacious, and warmly inviting, it's such a convenient location whether you live closer to boulder or closer to denver. with two treatment rooms and a schedule that accommodates different

I sit at my desk all day, hunched in front of a computer AND my shoulders and neck get all sore and tensed up when I'm stressed (which is often). My right hand was also starting to feel a bit numb. I've been to several massage therapists who have given me nice massages, sure, but they never really seem to be more than a backrub.

Jenny is the first massage therapist I've been to that not only worked out the knots (and with enough pressure), but actually treated the source of the problem. She has a keen understanding of anatomy and bloodflow and was able to work out the knots and

If you need a massage this is where to go. Jenny is personable and she has amazing hands. She can work out the knots and the crunchy stuff. She keeps record on you and can talk about what areas hurt last time and if you have the same stressors in your life. She is really worth your time.
