Khoury Oriental Rugs was founded by Leon Khoury, Jr. & Paul Raad in the Spring of 2001. Both Leon & Paul were fascinated by the process of making the rugs, the uniqueness of each hand woven rug and the stories behind the patterns and medallions found in the designs. They wanted to bring the luxury, feel and personality of the oriental rug to the South Carolina market.
With the help of Paul's childhood friend, Elie Herro, they started a small rug company. Elie brought decades of experience to the team and the business grew into a two location operation with more than 15,000 sq. Khoury Oriental Rugs specializes in Persian, Oushak, Kilim and Teawashed hand-made rugs. Our warehouse in Columbia, SC holds a vast inventory of over 3,000 rugs. At Khoury Oriental Rugs we do not purchase from middlemen. We import directly from the countries of origin including Persia, India, & China to bring you authentic, one of a kind oriental rugs.
Rugs are beautiful works of art on your floors. Each of our oriental rugs are hand made and one of a kind. Oriental rugs are woven in a process using knots and weavers can tie ten to fourteen thousands knots in a day. Larger rugs often take several months to complete. Sizes of oriental rugs range from smaller 3' x 5' accent rugs to 2' x 10' runners to 10' x 14' area rugs and larger.
