How does one celebrate Thanksgiving and Native American Heritage Month at the same time? Good intentions collide with absurd assumptions in Larissa FastHorse's wickedly funny satire, as a troupe of terminally "woke" teaching artists scrambles to create a pageant that somehow manages to celebrate both while avoiding any culturally appropriative missteps.

Lucia comes to befriend Abel, a Mexican American custodian who works the night shift while she stays late hours.

In the suburbs of the Garden State, the Greek God Dionysus returns from the heavens in the guise of a butch gardener named Diane, who's hell bent on reversing climate change and restoring earthly order by seducing a band of mortal followers. I LOVED the children’s play, Auntie Mae by Rachel Lambert. My grandchildren loved it as well. One said and I quote I didn’t like it, I LOVED it.

If I could rate the Kitchen Theater Company with 10 stars I would! The shows are always fantastic and produced in this wonderful intimate setting where one can feel the sense of full immersion into their productions. Its easy to forget that you are right in the middle of downtown ithaca (surrounded by some of the best restaurants in Ithaca - hint hint, The Rook, Saigon Kitchen and Francos Pizza, all within a minutes walk).
The topics of the shows are always highly relevant, and have important messages that everyone can benefit from taking the time to relate and reflect upon. Some are hard hitting

Being so close to actors, make me feel being completely immersed in the play. Also, I love the Kitchen theater beacause it makes everyone feel welcomed and it brings plays on all topics and more than once helped me to start looking on some topics very differently.

High quality acting in a small-town theatre. They put on productions that are often edgy, irreverent, and cerebral. A mix of local and out-of-town actors. Intimate box theatre.

A great theatre with some great shows. Not terribly large, so it's definitely an intimate experience for the audience and actors.

I love this Kitchen Theatre for a little NYC edginess in Ithaca. The venue is small and intimate...even on the occasion I don't care for the play, I've never come away without a good thought provoking conversation afterward.

I came on the "pay what you can" night for Peter and the Starcatcher. It impressed me they had such a night to make theatre accessible to anyone by means of financial ability. The building is modern and artistic in a simple way.

It was my first time coming here and I suppose I had the expectation it would be like the other plays I'd seen in my life; your standard auditorium and sitting in darkness, alone to my own devices.

I was pleasantly surprised! Their motto is "bold, intimate, engaging", and I soon found out why as I walked back a hall which entered into a small

I have subscribed to the Kitchen Theater since its beginning and every play has been worthwhile. After 20 plus years, each play and performance is superb in the acting, the story, the issues and the staging. The small space gives the audience a great view of the actors and draws you into the play. If you do not attend a play here, you are truly missing out on a memorable experience.

Bold, intimate, engaging theatre experience. Exactly as they advertise. And if they're running a Brian Dykstra piece, get there as fast as you can! You'll be talking about it for a long time afterward.

This place plus teh culinary options is worth the 80 mile drive to Ithaca. They even let you bring in the refreshments they sell in to the theatre.

The Kitchen definitely lives up to its motto of "bold, intimate, engaging". Though its 73 seat max (which is sometimes reduced if the show has live music) can be limiting, it forces all audience members into close contact with the actors. The plays are great, and often thought provoking, but what really shines in the Kitchen are the musicals. The original musicals written by Artistic Director Rachel Lampert are always amazing. The staff is very friendly, and often talk with audience members before the shows in the lobby and during intermission.
