Our board-certified physicians specialize in assisting individuals whose chronic pain has not responded to conventional treatments such as bed-rest, medication, physical therapy, and surgery. Chronic pain is defined as pain that persists for more than 6 months.

Services
Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Sunday appointments are also available in Palmdale. Please be prompt for your appointment so we can give you and others the best possible care. If you must be late for your appointment, please call immediately to inform us to reschedule. We accept Worker's Comp, Medi/Medi, Personal Injury, Private Insurances and HMO's.

I have chronic pain, fibromyalgia among other ailments. I was referred to this practice by my family doctor. They are very knowledgeable about all ailments and how to treat them different ways to help the patients. They do cognitive therapy, behavioral health, pain management, etc..... the front office staff is always friendly and very helpful. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is I hurt my back and it took them more then 2 months to help me get relief.

I don't know how Linda, their new patient coordinator ended up getting a job here. It must be a favor from a family friend, but she's absolutely awful.
I was referred here over a month ago from my orthopedic due to an auto accident.
My attorney called and left her several messages that went unreturned during that time period.
I finally got her on the phone yesterday, 11/10/21, and she informed me that by returning or calling an attorney she's soliciting their services.

Richard doesnt listen. After telling him over and over that I was tolerant to the pain medicine I had been taking, he just kept giving me the same thing, same amount. Month after month. My job is very physical. I cant do it when I am in so much pain. I kept telling him that. I do not like feeling like I am handicap all the time. Hunched over on my day off. Dying at the end of my shift. Still, no help from him. So, I ran out early. I had to do what I had to do. They automatically looked at me as either a drug addict or a drug seller. Not sure. But just told to fly a kite. They didnt take in to consideration

Always get excellent care. Love Jennifer and the staff. Today after calling multiple times over a virtual appoint for my mother and giving the correct phone number no less than 6 times. I was called rude by the back office. I raised my voice when I was told she couldn't hear me, not once did I use a curse word or disparaging word, but I'm rude. The most unprofessional encounter I've had of late. Very disappointing.

I'm 52 with the body of a 90 year old..now with them going to the depth of my pain..and getting the referrals I needed..
I'm feeling so much better
I have a physical therapist
A chiropractor and I can walk so much better..when you're in less pain..you feel better overall..thanks Guys

Customer service is terrible, when I called, they picked up the phone and hung up. I called again and I was put on hold for 10 minutes with no one to check on me. Front office ignores their patients too while they chat amongst each other. Not a very professional environment in my opinion.
The lady's review below me saying the front office is "amazing" is either a friend, fake account, or works there.
Bottom line: I would definitely go elsewhere.

I want to start by saying I am not one who does reviews, but I think it is warranted.
I have been a patient with universal for 15 plus years. Prior to becoming a patient with them I was with another doctor who in my opinion was a legalized drug dealer.
When I came into universal for an interview, I ended up interviewing the Doctor because I didn't want to be a patient at a placed that didn't care about their patients and just wanted to give them drugs to shut them up.
By the end of my interview with Doctor Sadik I ended up answering all of his questions by asking mine and I was very comfortable

Been using UPM since 2005. have found the staff and doctors to be the best. Much more then Pill dispensers. The staff has been proactive in addressing my issues with my injuries. Always looking for better treatments and new methods of pain management. The staff has had my back in dealing with the insurance and the never ending denials of services. Needing surgery from the day of injury UPM never forgot my goal of living pain free. With each step of recovery from my injuries the staff was always looking forward to the next step. Being in constant pain is unbearable at times, but with the help of Dr. Kohan and his remarkable staff its been tolerable. I've been treated with every avenue to help me with my chronic pain. The front desk staff is great and always makes appointments to suit you. There is literally no wait time. I sign in and I'm seen within 5 minutes. Dr. Kohan takes his time with me and he always tries to find ways to help me deal with my pain. I know I'll never be cured of my pain but Universal Pain Management is doing their very best to help me cope and live. The staff always shows compassion and understanding

I have been followed by pain Dr's for many years at many facilities. Dr. Kohan is extremely knowledgeable, always professional, compassionate, and kind. His goal is restoring and maintaining optimum quality of life for his patients. He knows whats best for your course of treatment. Let him lead and have faith , you won't be disappointed. I had to change to a different pain management Dr due to my insurance not taking Dr Emenike anymore and wish I had dumped him for Universal Pain Management a long time ago. I saw Candice Behm PA-C and she was amazing. She spent more time with me in one visit than Emmanuel Emenike did in 6yrs. I am excited to take a more holistic approach in dealing with my conditions. EXCELLENT! I highly recommend Dr. Kevin Kohan! Super knowledgeable, great bedside manner, and always makes u feel like ur complaints and pain are his primary concern! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND him. As a registered nurse I have met many doctors and I can tell that Dr. Kohan really cares! He is not patronizing and not condescending about my concerns. He truly is one of the best Pain Mgmt doctors out there! He really thinks outside "the box" and makes awesome suggestions to control my horrific chronic back pain amd fibromyalgia. You must go see Dr. Kohan! I Absolutely love the front and back office

I have been to 3 orthopedic surgeon and 2 pain doctors to treat my low back pain. I was recommended to Dr. Kohan and UPM by a friend. He was able to diagnose my on the first visit and prescribe medication and perform injection that has given back my life. He has great bed side manner and wonderful hands. I highly recommend him

I'm not sure what's going on with doctors offices and insurance but I called to make an appointment and the lady ran my insurance. She said oh we don't take covered California..ok that's cool I don't have that. Yea this is covered California.. no ma'am it's not don't you think I'd know if I had covered california. She proceeds to tell me yes you see since it's silver 1850 that silver means covered California. So I'm

Impossible to get appointments might start looking for a new place, they forget to schedule you for after procedure and then expect you to remember under anesthesia to book the appointment, they have given me appointments a couple times and then somehow I don't show on their system, if life gets on the way and you're late you have to reschedule and next appointment most likely will be in over a month, there's this medical assistant that takes your pressure with a horrible attitude the others get the job done not very friendly but ok

Dr Kohen is the most arrogant, cocky MD I have ever dealt with. I was a PT at universal for 2 yrs and very happy with the staff and PA
.I was forced to see this so called Dr and he was the rudest Dr I have come across. I was a nurse for 30 years and have dealt with Dr's from every form of life. They may have a higher education than alot of us,but bottom line, they are human and no better than the patient's they see.Dr Kohen, if you want to grow up and become a GOOD Dr, you should lose the arrogance and learn to have EMPATHY and learn how to LISTEN to your patients. I made an appointment with this place 3 weeks ago and yesterday a week before my appt. I get a call from them saying the doctor will be assisting on some procedure but they could squeeze me in on Sept. 11th. You never get to make a first impression twice. Told the lady on the phone I would be seeking help only not from them. I think the place in Lancaster may be better anyway. My time, my money and my pain.
