Services
Surface Combustion has earned a trusted reputation over the last 100 years of providing rugged, reliable thermal processing solutions equipped with the latest technology and backed by strong technical support. We strive to build customer relationships that endure long after the initial equipment purchase, and this is only accomplished by recruiting and retaining the best heat treat team possible.
Control Systems designed by Surface Combustion offer OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) knowledge and support. The control system is the key to managing your furnace line for efficient production of quality product. These systems control temperature, atmosphere, motor speeds and mechanical motions.
An American company, Surface is proud to support the agricultural industry. Our furnaces are built to heat treat engine and transmission components, axles, cylinders, hydraulic components and harvesting and tillage equipment used on farms and ranches everywhere. Tractors and combines are huge investments with long expected lives in a challenging work environment.
Surface understands the high volume needs and the required quality standards of the automotive industry and the suppliers who serve it. We offer many large batch and continuous furnace solutions to match your required work volumes to the floor space and optimal flow pattern.

Vacuum and atmosphere processes such as annealing, through hardening, carburizing, ferritic nitrocarburizing (FNC), and nitriding are performed on various steel engine, transmission, front wheel drive, and rear axle components.Ball and tapered bearings and constant velocity joints including races, cages and bearings also use the above processes.
Many applications such as gears, shafts, engine blocks and heads, brackets, racks, hand and power tools, lawn care and hardware, alloy tubes, etc. are cast on a daily basis. Many castings are made with disposable molds of sand for example which once the casting has been cooled the sand mold is broken to retrieve the component.
