We were new to home renovation when we first considered redesigning our 100+ year-old row-house in DC. While we had some ideas about the space initially, we knew we’d need the help of a professional architect before we would decide to to go forward. We had to consider the age of the home, our budget, and temporarily re-locating ourselves and our two young kids, among many other things.

Shahnur and Elena at Axis Architecture are a wonderful team! They are able to take your vision wall and turn it into the house of your dreams. They are responsive to input in revising the plans and patient when you try to explain something you don’t have the architectural words for. The architectural plans are detailed, comprehensive, and they passed the city review the first time. They always respond to email and have been a great help with navigating the “now we have the plans it’s time to actually build it” process.

We are very happy of choosing to work with Axis Architects for our complete renovation project. They quickly understood our vision and implemented the project beautifully. It was overwhelming to begin imagining new spaces in our nearly total home renovation. It was nothing but a pleasure to work with Axis Architects. They worked with us every step of the way. When we had to make adjustment to plans to stay within the budget they helped us figure that out too. We had a mudroom, office/den, new kitchen open to dining room, master suite and new bathroom. Contacting and working with Axis was the easiest part of this whole process and we highly recommend them.

We have done many projects over the years with Axis and have enjoyed the collaboration. They provide a valuable skill set from architectural drawings to interior designs replete with design boards, color schemes and precise selections for different areas of a house.
