I been stuck on my 1986 Ford F-250 diesel restoration FOR 4 MONTHS due to a broken head bolt! I called every shop possible to remove it and it was excuses after excuses. Finally today a co worker looked on google under custom welder near me and recommended me to him. Price was right and I wouldn’t have gave my money to no other shop. Best at what he does hands down and highly recommend him for ANY welding. I can’t express the joy of finishing this restoration due to his knowledge and expertise. I know a lot of Motörhead’s and his line will DEFINITELY be blown up for continuous work and I’ll

Initially quoted $350 for the job. Refused to issue the invoice/quote until the job is done. scheduled the job and doesn’t come at the promised the time. When I call, he says he “thought” I canceled the job via email even though there is no such email sent. Asked when he can come, he pushes out the appointment time by a day and also increases the quoted value from 350 to 450. Decided not to hire him due to unprofessional behavior

I have a handicapped daughter who needs special help on exercise equipment. I bought a stationary bicycle but her feet could not stay on the pedals. I took the equipment to Ron and he and Roger figured out how to modify the pedals so her feet stayed on.
Now she can exercise and I am so pleased. Ron, Roger, Rhonda and the big dog were wonderful, fun and, Ron actually LISTENED to me! so few men really LISTEN! Ron was intent on doing it right - and he did!
Thank you, all of you.

I had broken welds on a 14 year old Bowflex smith machine. Ron was able to repair them quickly and at a very fair cost! As well, he is a joy to talk to while at his shop! He has many years of experience and appears to be able to handle a wide variety of welding jobs! He also backs his work! “If any problems, bring it back”. Would highly recommend Ron Curtis!

I purchased a trailer to use in an out-of-state move and wanted steel sides welded to it. I was under a tight time frame so Mr. Curtis located the steel sheets on a Saturday. Then, notwithstanding some unexpected problems with the trailer frame and making changes so the steel sides could be installed, he worked late into the night to complete the job. He is personable, good, and very responsive. I recommend him to anyone needing welding work.

Curtis is awesome! I called him to make an appt and he welcomed me over day of to check out a coffee table leg that needed fixing. He welded it within minutes and was very affordable! Shared great conversation with him and his wife, and what an inspiring shop space he has created. Definitely highly recommend him, so important to support local gems like his business!

Curtis Custom Welding Review
Hunted for months for someone who could weld 140 yr old iron & modern metals, & discovered Curtis of Curtis Custom Welding, in Portland. Wow! He has a huge range of welding skills, making it possible to save 2 beautiful wrought iron antiques & a contemporary, versatile metal daybed that was in rough shape. He worked so carefully & quickly that the cost for all 3 was far below what I expected. I'd trust him wholeheartedly with ANY metal work, from auto to antique.

***Do not use for repair of auto rims*** The owner (Ron) seemed like a very nice guy and is probably a competent welder. The problem with this place is his attention to detail. Brought in a damaged rim for him to weld and straighten. After inspection he claimed he had done 100's of these and 8 rims already this week. Given this assurance I assumed he could do the job. Problem was that in repairing the backside of the rim he destroyed the front (polished) portion of the rim. Front was gashed and there were dents in all 5 spokes of the rim face caused by hammering on the rim while face down and no

The work performed by Mr. Ron Curtis was literally a "cut above the rest"
This task was tricky enough that the average welder would have struggled to achieve near perfection, and I have a rig all set up now to provide towing service for my dog "Sonny Boy" if he needs a lift home after a long walk...Nice Job Mr Curtis...Outstanding work you did in fabricating and welding together a perfect tow bar for my KickBike. I'm very fortunate to have found you, and you are for all intents and purposes "one of a kind" individual, and to say that he is quite capable would in all

I needed a security guard for my basement window. I didn't have any luck anyplace I searched. Ran across Ron of Curtis Custom Welding, and he made a guard from scratch. I left him a template, another guard, and the new guard was perfect.
This is the guy you want to know for any of your welding/metal needs.
Great job Ron ! !

This is about a tiny little break which made life impossible, because the crack was in the grate on my gas stovetop. One of the little cast iron pieces snapped (I can't figure out how it happened) & this made all cooking unstable if not dangerous. I tried to get help from repair places, wholesale appliances (no replacement available) a sheet metal shop who recommended a trailer repair place who recommended...everybody said this was a very special hard-to-do, unusual, rare type of weld & nobody could do it--nobody even knew anybody who could do it.
Finally I thought of Yelp, Curtis

I had an excellent experience with Ron at Curtis Custom Welding. My riding lawn mower needed to be welded after the undercarriage fell off. He fixed it by the next day and welded it on top and underneath so it isn't likely ever to fall off again. He is very friendly and with 30 years in the business, I was confident he knew what he was doing. He told me the price before doing the work and I felt it was fair. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Curtis Custom Welding.

I had an issue with a vintage office chair's weld breaking. I quickly found Ron online, called him up, and he had it fixed in no time. Not only does Ron excel at his craft, but he's also friendly and personable.
I'm actually writing this review in the chair he fixed (several months later) and the welds holding better than when I bought the chair.

This past week we paid our normal dealer to have the boat "winterized for the year," and were shocked to learn they found the "old" metal flapper valves (that we had paid Ron to replace) floating around the lower unit.
The new valves Ron installed were still functional and in good shape, but he apparently left the old ones in the lower unit - where they were rubbing up against the gears. Fortunately, they had not yet been shredded small enough to enter the main gearbox, although you can see the scour marks in the picture I uploaded.
Again, let me state that Ron is a fantastic
