Cervantes Restaurant & Lounge
The founder of Cervantes New Mexican Restaurant and more recently, Cervantes Food Products, is a descendent of Spanish immigrants who first settled in this area more than 200 years ago.

As a youngster, Roberta began pursuit of her dream of developing a 'very special and unique kind' of New Mexican cuisine which would combine the best features of all the influences found here -Native American, Mexican, and Northern European - as well as the Old World Spanish traditions her family had cherished for generations. The result is a traditional kitchen which has been serving New Mexicans for more than thirty years.

Came here with dad and sis tonight and it was really a treat! Lovely dining room decorated with tasteful Valentine's Day decor and NM Art. Large mirrors made the place seem open. Of course, we arrived in time for the mariachis and my sis discovered a new love for their music! The food (tamale plate, carnitas, taco salad) was delicious and came in time and we all enjoyed our night and this cozy and friendly restaurant!

Cool spot to grab some New Mexican fare located conveniently close to Kirtland. It's certainly a unique building, and we ended up eating in an old school lounge looking room. The menu consists of typical fare you find locally here, including tacos, burritos and tamales. The food was good, and was just the right portion size for lunch. The sopapillas were great as well. Service was super friendly and the food arrived quickly.

Wow. Service was good. And that was it. Terrible burnt food. And when the manager asked what was wrong and we told him about the burnt food. He began to argue. My sons burger bun was hard as a rock and black! The chicken fried steak was mush....like an over cooked frozen patty. Things looked good in the pictures but no one at our table liked anything. At all. Tacos were inedible. Super disappointed. Went to Chipotle afterwards.

We were tipped off about this place from James at La Cumbre Brewery and were SO excited to try some New Mexican cuisine. We were absolutely blown away by the quality of the food as well as the service. Kyle went above and beyond, one of the best servers we’ve ever had (I’ve been in the service industry for 10+ years) and enhanced our experience 10 fold. This is absolutely a must stop on any trip through New Mexico. We will 100% be back. Thank you Cervantes team for an absolutely delicious and unbelievable experience!

Wow, simply the best Mexican food I have had in years. As soon as you walk in you are in for a treat. Place is from the mid 70's and the decor hasn't changed. Cannot say enough about the flavor and quality of the food. Make sure to get the red sauces!

The food here is always good and is reasonably priced. On my most recent visit it was obvious that they were understaffed like many restaurants right now. Our server however was super helpful and had a great attitude making the meal much more enjoyable than just the food would. If you go to Cervantes for the food, which you should, ask for Ceason to be your server, it will make for a great experience.

9/2021: DEFINITELY WORTH A RETURN VISIT (or 2). Cervantes was nicely crowded during my visit, yet the seating was quick. Food was fresh, fast, and awesome! Took a friend here who said it tasted like "Grandma's" and had never ever been to Cervantes before (born & raised in New Mexico).
Healthy Choices and Vegetarian Options available for most entrees. According to their menu all entrees are served with two sopaipillas w/honey, choice of red or green chile, beans, rice, and a low-fat mozzarella cheese, then garnished with lettuce and tomato. Onions on request.
I ordered the ground beef enchiladas

Hands down one of the best dining experiences in my entire life. The food was great but the mariachi band was absolutely incredible. Being from small town Montana it really blew me away. Wish I could upload videos. Idk if the band was regular or not but they were truly talented.

So I was told about this place a couple of days ago so we decided to stop by and try it. As soon as we walk in the mariachi is playing and that was cool. The service was awesome the waiter was on top of his game. The food was great also my Carnitas plate came out sizzling right off the grill and it was great. Good job guys definitely coming back for the rest of the menu. Thanks
