Refused to call back after getting initial quote for glass work. The story kept changing from we only come twice per month, to once a week, to we called but there was no answer (no missed calls on the day they alleged). When asked did they still even want to do the job - the sub-par customer service response was well if you don't want to wait, then get someone else. We informed company when work began (2 weeks ago) and kept them informed. The story for that was no one writes down messages or passes information on.

Horrible service. Ordered in December and the Measurer didn't come out until January. Then they didn't order for 3 weeks because our Contractor didn't give them the deposit (he had authorized the Credit Card on file). Then they didn't order for another 3 weeks because of COVID. Then they cancelled the install because one of the workers called in sick. They finally came out to install and the measurement was off by 4 inches. Akamai Glass was recommended by Angie's List for repair of my jalousies. Several aluminum rivets had broken on the handles/levers. They recommended replacing the jalousie frame in one window and re-riveting the others.
Quote 6 days later (I inquired by email after 3 days): "All for the sum of $2532.00, tax included". I have no idea how 4 rivets and one replacement strip jalousie hardware could be $2500. I have the glass, I just don't know how to rivet.

I had a special order--I needed a large mirror cut for my bathroom. The fellow who helped me sprang into action as soon as I arrived at his business and within minutes was cutting it to my specifications. Watching him work, it was apparent that he was a quite knowledgeable and the finished product reflected, quite literally, his expertise. He gave me an incredibly reasonable price for his service and I am reminded of his excellent work every time I visit the bathroom where this mirror currently hangs. Akamai Glass, and specifically Burt and his team, were an absolute pleasure to work with! We participated in Better Home & Garden's One Room Challenge which had a tight deadline and Akamai was able to deliver not only on time, but with great prices! The Akamai team made us a custom shower glass door(47" x 80") and two custom mirrors (22" x 40") with an anodized black bronze channel(which to the eye appears black). The results were stunning and truly completed our bathroom design. Thanks to Burt's help with sourcing the material and with the installation team

In this day and age of mediocre to terrible customer service, it’s important to give shout outs to businesses who are getting it right. Had a little mishap on Sunday that shattered the glass in the living room window. With bad weather coming and being unable to secure the house, I was desperate. Long story short - spent 2 frustrating hours calling 11 businesses and getting lots of “we’re too busy” and “it’ll be 3-4 weeks”. Finally called Akamai Glass. I must’ve sounded defeated. During the move to the island, I had a few items with glass components that broke during transit. The glass replacement I needed was a small work order (2 small cabinet doors and a picture frame), and Akamai Glass was the only company that would do the work for me. They really mean that no job is too small. I thought the price was reasonable, and the pieces were finished in less than a week. Great customer service, and I highly recommend Akamai Glass!

Last week a thug kicked in my business' front glass door Saturday morning to do a Smash-n-Grab at 5:30am. After the cops left and we cleaned up all the broken glass I called Akamai Glass because they had helped us replace our door glass back in 2011. Their phone message said they weren't open on Saturday but I could "press '6' for Chari's cell phone." I pressed '6' and got Chari. She said a crew was going to be working that Saturday and she would send someone over to measure and get me a quote. We use Akamai glass for all of our specialty orders - obscure glass, rain glass, reeded glass. They do a great job and have a quick turn around time. It is not a beautiful store front, office or parking area- but they get the job done. They even offered us free samples to keep on hand for our customers.

With so many ups and downs, it's tough to rate Akamai Glass - especially given the meaning of "akamai"; I really want to recommend them but am reluctant to do so unless you're really patient. On December 13th 2016 my husband called to get an estimate. The women who answered abruptly told him they were really busy. When he inquired further about their services she reinterated that they were back logged and she seemed very annoyed. When my husband asked if he could speak to a manager or the owner she said, "you're talking to her."
The really tragic part is that although we were calling for an estimate we were not looking to have the work done until next year. It would have been nice if she had asked about our needs rather than shutting us down. Very disappointed with customer service

Reviews that are old are not so good (up and down)for these guys BUT we had a GREAT experience. We ordered several items. They are always bright and cheery over the phone and got the orders done quickly. We never picked up a tempered piece of glass for months (totally forgot about it) and they were great about keeping it for us and retrieving it when we finally did get in to get it.
Fair, competitive prices, fast turnaround time, good service and nice folks.

This is the most unprofessional company I have ever worked with. I sent them a request to go to one of my stores to provide a price to remove and dispose the existing mirror on the Sales Floor that was cracked and supply and install a new one matching the existing one.. First they send me a price to just install the new mirror. Then gave me an attitude when I brought it to their attention that their bid was supposed to include the removal and disposal of the existing mirror. Finally I received their ridiculously high bid..
