Gatwood Crane Service has been serving the Chicagoland area for over 60 years. Gatwood has always provided quality trustworthy service. We began in the 1940's as a steel erector. Shortly after starting the steel erection business, we were asked if we could put some HVAC units on a roof for one of Chicago's leading mechanical contractors. Of course we were happy to oblige. Realizing the need for this service, Gatwood transitioned from a steel erector to a full service crane rental service.

Every employee at Gatwood Crane Service is committed to bringing an unmatched level of professionalism to every lift. Gatwood utilizes many resources in the planning of your lift.
Boom trucks, mobile hydraulic cranes, and rough terrain cranes are used at Gatwood Crane Service, Inc. for lifting and moving materials. Gatwood's policy is to maintain a safe work environment for its employees; therefore, it cannot be overemphasized that only qualified and licensed operators shall operate these devices.
Weekly safety meetings, with discussion re: new procedures of operation, safety equipment, etc. Discussions of any problems or problem areas which may occur on a jobsite. Reports on the safety of our equipment and/or suggestions on how to improve operations. Union locals hold monthly safety meetings for their members to attend, and from which we get some very positive feedback from our employees.
Check with the manufacturers recommendations to determine if extra rigging is required - or call us to discuss the situation. In this case dual spreaders were used to support the generator for the lift. The front side was eventually disconnected - transferring the weight to the rear - so the generator could be inserted into the trailer for mobile use.
