Helen Scharber (she/her) is a Licensed Acupuncturist (LAc) and a Certified Diplomate by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She has an MA in Environmental Politics and a PhD in Economics. I first experienced acupuncture in the treatment of my neck and low back pain.
A: Good question! There's a simple, short, and wonderful book to read for free about that here, a free audiobook version here, and a version to buy here. A: A common dose of acupuncture is 5 treatments over the course of 3 weeks to see if it's helping you. If it is, you continue for another 3 weeks to see how far we can progress.

I have been going to Matt since he opened. The group acupuncture clinic allows people to receive excellent care at a reasonable price. Matt has helped me with seasonal adjustments and neck and shoulder pain and stiffness, among other things. The clinic is clean, comfortable and relaxing. Highly recommended!

Clean, easy to get to, and inside: a beautiful, relaxing space. Matt was easy to talk to and highly skilled. Very thorough yet efficient intake. He certainly knows his stuff. We discussed enough to put me at ease, and he was gentle and checked in to see if I wanted all these different points, including auricular (ear) points. You don’t usually get ear points at most Community Acupuncture clinics! I’ve been to Community Acupuncture spots all over the country and this experience was one of the best I’ve ever had. Really welcoming staff. Super easy, well organized payment station. Go here!
