Services
Vanderweil Engineers was founded in 1950 by Raimund Vanderweil, an Austrian immigrant with a mechanical engineering degree and several years of experience in mechanical contracting, engineering design, and heat transfer R&D.

Today, we are a full-service engineering firm specializing in MEP and technology services for a wide variety of buildings, sustainable design, commissioning services, as well as central heating and chiller plants, power generation, and electrical transmission and distribution lines. With a staff of 450 located across nine offices, we are proud to be one of the largest independently-owned engineering firms in the country.
Vanderweil offers a broad array of engineering services focused on sustainable MEP systems for buildings, power generation and distribution, chilled water and steam generation and distribution, and electrical transmission systems. We provide MEP Building systems for commercial, institutional, industrial, and government clients.
Garen leads Vanderweil's Power Group, overseeing all business related to central plants, utility distribution, and electrical transmission and distribution. He began his career in utility engineering, and has become increasingly involved in energy production and distribution. He is integrally involved in client projects and firm management.
Mechanical engineering at Vanderweil focuses both on creating healthy and comfortable indoor environments for people, as well as on the generation and distribution of energy. In both these areas we apply common mechanical engineering principles, derived from the laws of thermodynamics to find the most practical and sustainable design approaches.
Our goal is to conceptualize and develop safe, reliable and effective electrical systems, with flexibility for growth and change - systems that can sustainably support the life of buildings long into the future. Our design of lighting systems is integrated with the architectural designs to enhance natural lighting, which, in addition to our electrical distribution design, contributes significantly to reducing the building's carbon footprint.

If you want to join a company that upper management doesn't do their job, push it all to the employees, welcome! Good management is to give your employees the right tools and good directions and stay out of their way. Who left the company 3:00pm every day isn't management!!
