Do you live or work in Jackson, Cass or Clay counties in Missouri or Wyandotte or Johnson County in Kansas? Are you a federal employee or do you have a relative who's a Mazuma Member? We're also a Kansas City mainstay. In 1948, Joe Pinkerton had a singular goal: to make Kansas City a better place to live, work, and bank.
The State of Missouri gave him the green light, and just like that the Kansas City National Federation of Federal Employees Credit Union was born. With a whopping $5 share deposit, Clarence H. Plaskett became the first charter Member of the credit union. Meanwhile, Joe and his wife, Wyla, recruited more new Members by going from one railroad station to the next collecting deposits in a shoebox.

My one-star rating relates to the difficulty in trying to reach someone at the bank. I need info/advice about my account, and need to speak with a human. Both the local tele # and the 888 # are totally useless…there is no option for Customer Service. I finally just tapped on the credit card option and was told she was unable to transfer me. Seems a bit ridiculous that I have to send a letter.

Someone stole my wallet and spent money on 3 of my cards, Mazuma made the process difficult and infuriating. I've been banking with them for 9 years and have had very minimal problems until now. I find it very inconvenient that it is expected of me to call frequently in order to try to expedite a process that could of been avoided in the first place. The day someone stole my wallet, I locked all of them but the Mazuma one and two of my other financial institutions the lock process didn't work and that person was able to gain around 1200.00 from my accounts. My other institution did a

Communication is terrible, always have to hold, seems like I’m always needing to resolve something and in order to do so I have to take time out of my day (like anyone has that) to call during business hours and sit around on hold for 15 or more minutes. One time I sat on hold for 15 minute only to have them tell me I need to come into the bank to resolve the issue. Tellers are usually friendly, bank conveniently located. No email available in contact us page. Will be switching banks soon.

I have been trying for 4 months to make a change in a monthly fund transfer from one bank to another. The first second and third month, change did not work. Each time i called and was placed on hold at least 15 min. Each time i was assured that the problem would be corrected. Now calling a fourth time, placed on hold forever, they say it is not their fault, but the originating bank. The level of incompetence is incredible.

I joined the bank/credit union when they had the promotion for joining where you would get a $200 incentive for joining and completing the required Deposits & charges. I went in to the branch to have my account set up to confirm to properly ensure I would be eligible. After setting up my account I was informed the only thing left to do is to make 20 charges and to set up direct deposit after that was completed I will be eligible since the rep set everything else up to qualify my account.
After not seeing the fund add to my account after the period of time, I reached out to the customer help and

Wow. I bought a vehicle and the bank that took my loan was Mazuma. I went to my bill pay through my bank and paid my first payment. Come to find out Mazuma does not accept electronic fund transfers, so my bank had to mail them a check. 1 week later, it still has not cleared my account. I tried calling Mazuma to make sure they received my payment. I tried 3 different days, each day on hold for at least 10 minutes before giving up.
I went online to open online access to my loan. Then I received an email declining me the option to have access to my loan. Twice today I called to be on hold (the first

This Credit Union it's terrible if you want a good credit union stay far away from Mazuma. The people that work in the branch are very friendly. Customer service on the phone can take forever sometimes and they can be very rude within the conversation and cut you off when you're trying to speak about your account. I have had two bad experiences from their phone Representatives.

I love banking at Mazuma. All the employees are helpful and pleasant. I just recently had a worker at my home try to deposit the payment check twice. Jacquelyn Blake went above and beyond to insure My account was only debited once. She researched the problem quickly. She was supportive, professional and extremely knowledgeable. It’s very comforting to know my money is safe is Mazuma hands!!!! And that Mazuma employees really care about their customers.

Don't bother. I signed up in August and my Bill Pay still isn't functioning despite me contacting them by email, phone, and branch visits to get it fixed. They say they are going to fix it but they never do. If you have to call them for support you will be on hold for half an hour before you can talk to a rep who won't be able to help you. I've had many other bank accounts and never experienced problems like I've had here.

Save your time and go somewhere else. They call themselves a credit union but they are just another bank. Credit unions were made to help their customers but this place is a joke. Don't try calling customer service line. You will be on hold for at least 20 minutes minimum. Always seeing new people in the bank. It's like that can't hold onto their employees. Switching banks first chance I get. Run away.

I am a long time member at Mazuma and anytime you have a relationship for over 20 years you have little things that may happen but all in all I wouldn't be a member for 20 years if they didn't meet my basic financial needs.
I love having this new location on 135th and no matter what my issue is when I visit inside, my service has been friendly and professional with very little wait! Customer service is important to me and frankly Mazuma has yet to fail me in that department!

Mazuma Credit Union is a joke!!! Do not honor their promotions either!!! I opened a checking account for a promotion and since then I’ve had nothing but problems!!! Their debit cards didn’t work, their automated phone system is the absolute worst!! It takes 15-20 mins to actually talk to a human being!! Not only that, the kicker.. wait for it.. they will force the customer to give up or donate the remaining balance of your transaction/deposit/cashing because This credit union has become un-customer service friendly and Less personable by using only automated kiosk systems that only has dollar

I have been a Mazuma member for 8 years. Overall, I've had an okay experience. Not great, but okay enough to keep them as my bank. That has since changed due to the "service" I received this afternoon at their Overland Park location. The two blonde women that "assisted" me were beyond rude and disrespectful. The teller that was actually helping me told me repeatedly I couldn't deposit my check into my own account without an ID....the teller standing next to mine stopped her conversation with her customer at one point to lean over and make a snide comment to me! This bank sent me a personal loan conformation on the 9th of August. Britney Wilkerson was my loan specialist. I submitted all the docs she requested on the 10th of August. I then tried to reach her for a week and a half, kept getting out of the office emails and couldn't even get someone to answer the main bank line. She finally sent an email saying she was transferring my loan to Matt. I wished her well and tried to reach Matt. With no luck. Still no answer on main phone line. Finally today I got through and ask for a loan supervisor . Katie got on the phone and explained that Britney

Having worked in a few Financial Institutions over the course of my career, it's nice to have found a place that is able to truly help its members by offering great rates, no hidden fees and high member service expectations! I not only enjoy working at Mazuma, but I appreciate how easy it is to take care of my business via online, in person or over the phone - bankers can attest that it's often had to find the time to do your own banking, even when you work at the bank. Having several options to conduct my personal business, is a blessing.
