S & S Cleaners is a third generation family owned cleaners that has been in operation since 1948. Our company is one of the few remaining petroleum solvent processors in North Florida. Petroleum solvent processing is recognized as the leading method for cleaning for silks, beaded gowns and formal wear.
Dry cleaning is a process of soil removal that involves no water. Instead a solvent is used. Here at S & S Cleaners, we use a petroleum based solvent that is widely regarded as the best solvent for silks, beaded items, and fine formal wear. Petroleum solvent is a very light liquid that impacts your garment colors and size in a much less aggressive manner than either water or the industry standard solvent PERC.

College student here at the University of Florida, definitely was hesitant to use a cleaners outside of my hometown but S&S Cleaners did an amazing job and for a great price. Steve was so nice when I met him, and my mother was beyond amazed by how well they did with my jacket that had mold on it and button down dress shirts.

WEDDING DRESS CLEANING/PRESERVATION
Don't let these other reviews fool you, this place is amazing and I can't recommend it enough! I took my wedding dress there to be cleaned And steamed before my wedding and Stephen was patient and attentive. He even got it cleaned in a short amount of time to be ready for my wedding. After, I of course brought it back to him to be cleaned again and preserved/boxed. He even had me come back in after the cleaning and before the boxing so I could inspect the whole train. He even offered to include invitations or my veil in the preservation box too!

The people here are friendly, but it isn't what I am looking for in a dry cleaner.
My clothes were supposed to be done on a Friday, but were delayed until the following Monday.
I told them I wanted my jeans heavy starched and to stand up on their own. What I received was the lightest starched pair of jeans I have ever worn.
They did well enough on shirts.

On Monday I brought 2 man white dress shirts. I needed them washed, ironed and folded.
They told me that I can collect them on Wednesday. When I came to collect the shirts on Wednesday, they made me wait like 5 min, which I didn’t mind at all. 3 people came up and apologize for the wait, again, it’s 5 min, I didn’t care. When I got my shirts, I noticed that they were very wrinkly. I opened one of them and I was shocked. The shirt was horrible. Wrinkles everywhere +yellow stains. They told me that because it is cotton it is hard to iron. This is wrong. I asked to re-do them without folding

I was just looking up their hours and noticed some mediocre reviews. I've been going to s&s cleaners for over 20 years. They are hands down the best cleaners in town. They are in an old run-down area but well-worth patronizing. They care and they do a much better job than anyone else. I am willing to drive the 20 minutes that it takes to get there (although not happy about it!) I wish that they would come over to the west side.

The only reason I gave 1 star is you can't give 0.
I went here to get a blouse dry cleaned and they destroyed it. Not only was the blouse ruined, they did not tell me about it and instead hid it in between the other garments I had dry cleaned and took my payment. When I got home and took everything out of the bag I saw the ruined top. I went back asking for a refund and instead was given a 15 minute lecture on why they should not have to give me one. I understand they did not mean to destroy the top, but the fact that they hid it and let me pay for it is unacceptable. They ended up giving

I may give 5 stars eventually, but I've only been once. Service was great--staff was friendly and helpful. It's not located in the best area of town, but sometimes the "hole in the wall" type places are the best. Parking is limited, too. $9.25 to clean a formal dress doesn't seem too bad, and the dress came out looking beautiful.
