The Childrens Dental Clinic
We are a pediatric dental practice. Pediatric Dentists differ from general/family dentists in that they have an extra two years of training after dental school that specifically prepares them to focus on the comprehensive growth, development, and unique dental needs of infants, children (including those with special health care needs), and teens.

Dr. Phillips is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Our staff takes great pride in being a pediatric dental office and considers it a privilege to be entrusted with the care of your little ones.
Services
Having been born and raised in the Mississippi Delta, I am am no stranger to the Cleveland community and all it has to offer. In fact, I was born at Bolivar Medical Center, the same great hospital where I currently maintain privileges for the provision of full mouth dental treatment under general anesthesia.
Our practice values each individual child, and we recognize that children with special health care needs require a dental practice that is open and understanding. Children with special health care often experience a higher risk of oral diseases which can effect their quality of life and long term health.
Our office, as well as the The American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Dental Association, and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry all recommend establishing a Dental Home for your child by their first birthday. Children with a dental home are more likely to receive proper preventive care, and routine oral health treatment.
Our office attempts to schedule appointments at your convenience. Preschool children should be seen in the morning because they are more awake, and we can work more slowly with them for their comfort. School children with a lot of homework should be seen in the morning for the same reason. Dental appointments are an excused absence, and missing school can be minimal when regular dental care is scheduled.
A pediatric dentist has an extra two to three years of specialized training after dental school, and is dedicated to the oral health of children from infancy through their teenage years. Children, pre-teens, and teenagers all need different approaches to deal with their behavior, guide their dental growth and development, and help them avoid future dental problems.
