John Boldt and Dustin Smith started BoldtSmith Packaging in 2013 after recognizing a demand for companies needing a temporary packaging engineer. These companies ranged from small start-ups launching a few SKUs into the market to large corporations with an existing team of packaging engineers requiring assistance for a specific project.
Our team has the most advanced packaging design software which allows us to efficiently create optimized packaging designs. Our design software ties into programs that allow us to maximize the number of packages that fit in a trailer or ocean container. This gives our team the leverage to create the best possible packaging solutions.
Packaging Optimization begins with a holistic approach to identify product damage and cost reduction opportunities. Designing and implementing optimized packaging designs is a data driven process that requires balancing the key measurable variables. These variables include packaging material costs, freight, labor, product damage, etc.
Shipping products through an e-commerce supply chain has additional hazards and challenges in comparison to shipping on a pallet. These additional hazards have a higher likelihood of damaging products due to the nature of manual handling. We have the expertise to create optimized e-commerce packaging solutions for a large variety of globally sourced products.
BoldtSmith Packaging offers a wide variety of packaging design services. Our in-house team of packaging designs have backgrounds in designing retail, e-commerce, industrial, food and military packaging. Utilizing our in-house sample making machines, we are able to create packaging designs and samples internally.
