The health and safety of our athletes will always come first. While we cannot both be open to the public and also prevent 100% of all germs from spreading, we are proud and confident in the policies and procedures we have put in place that meet or exceed all government recommendations and CDC guidelines. Our mission at the Champaign Gymnastics Academy is to provide all of our athletes, competitive and recreational, with the highest quality gymnastics instruction in the Champaign-Urbana area.
Services
I would answer no, being able to do a flip or a roll is not going to help them get ahead in school or in work. What will help them is the multitude of skills, both physical skills for a healthy lifestyle and personal skills to succeed in school and work, learned from doing gymnastics. All children benefit from classes and participation in gymnastics at CGA.
Our staffing philosophy at CGA is to hire qualified team and recreational coaches who posses a wide range of gymnastics knowledge and are committed to continuing their education through classes and seminars. The CGA staff strives to coach and lead with compassion. We care about every child who walks through our doors, and it is our goal to help them reach their full potential.
Our gym is located on the corner of Springfield and Mattis in the Country Fair Shopping Center at 219 South Mattis Ave. Champaign IL, 61821. This state-of-the-art facility features a 10,000 square ft gymnastics gym, and a 2,200 square ft. Parents say I LOVE IT [the viewing area]. I have two girls on the competitive team that practice at different times.
The USA Gymnastics Safe Sport Policy is the foundation for rules, policies and responsibilities for athlete safety and well-being and the prevention of abuse. The policy encompasses the requirements of the "SafeSport Code for the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Movements" and federal laws, including the "Protecting Young Victims and Safe Sport Authorization Act of 2017."
At CGA our competitive team program offers children the opportunity to pursue gymnastics to its highest level, and experience all of the benefits that go along with it. Competitive gymnastics offers children a unique opportunity to develop a high level of self-esteem, self-discipline, and work ethic.

I decided to write this review because I was thinking about how much I loved working here in college. It has been a few years but this is such an amazing family environment and a great place to work. I fell in love with working with young kids while working here and I am now finishing up a teaching degree in early childhood education!
I worked as a preschool/recreational gymnastics instructor. All the coaches were willing to help me learn the sport (my background is dance, not gymnastics). I learned a lot about technical skills but more so I learned about positive leadership based upon building

When my daughter was 2 1/2, she was diagnosed with a rare cancer. During that time, we joined CGA. They listened to restrictions on her condition and supported her 100%. Now 5 years old, she knows many coaches by name and gymnastics is her passion. CGA builds a relationship with the children and give them confidence in what they do.
