Services
1942 The Friends of Catholic Education was organized by Mr. John Carroll to help raise funds for a Central Catholic High School in Birmingham. 1946 The First Annual Toy Bowl Game was sponsored by the John Carroll Honorary Alumni to raise funds for construction of the school. Actual construction on the school building was started in November.
The Guidance and Counseling Program at John Carroll Catholic High School seeks to impact positively the lives of our students by partnering with parents, faculty, and staff. Our program offers comprehensive planning and guidance services addressing student academic and career goals as well as spiritual, emotional, and social needs.
If you purchased your books from our online bookstore MBS Direct/BCN Services you will be able to sell them back to them. If you purchased from the PTO Used Book Sale and those books will not be used at John Carroll next year, you have the choice to donate them or sell them through another outlet, such as amazon.com.
John Carroll is a 1:1 chromebook school. We have been steadily increasing our technology programs by expanding our network, training faculty, and partnering with Google Apps for Education. Each student having their own Chromebook in the classroom is a big step forward which allows us to take full advantage of the many instructional tools available to teachers and students.
Attire is a collared shirt, khakis, and black or brown shoes. Girls may, but are not required to, wear a dress of appropriate length (no spaghetti strap or strapless dresses are permitted). No denim, tennis shoes, or sandals. Lunch is on us! A gift card will be provided to enjoy a gourmet lunch from our cafeteria catering service, Yellow Bicycle.

John Carroll Catholic High School is one heck of a school and has been for seventy years since its founding in 1947. The school has changed over the years to sending more and more graduates to college - probably 98%+ at present. However, whatever their graduation year virtually every Carroll graduate will say that they were better off attending Carroll than most any other high school in the Birmingham area.

It got me to college, and there were some good teachers, but if your kids already have a moral compass instilled, check out the rankings of your public school before trying to make an informed decision. There are some stellar public schools very nearby.

It has been years but I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at this school. The relationships I made while here are still great today. Best High School experience :)
