Founded in 1999, the Kaleidoscope Theatre Company is dedicated to producing "serious" comedy. We produce comedies of all types: romantic comedies, black comedies and farces - plays that seriously explore the comic perspective in the theatre.

While planning to include both classic comedies and more recent revivals, we primarily work to build strong relationships with contemporary playwrights that write smart, comedic plays with insight and great humor. At Kaleidoscope, we believe that theatre exercises our humanity, it stretches our compassion, it feeds our wit, and it refines and marinates our wisdom.

A love story. Yeah, it's f**ked up. Clair and Chris really need to stop seeing each other but can never figure out how to end their off-and-on-again affair. Some people think lying, cheating and manipulation are bad, so one night Clair decides to come clean with Jimmy, her husband, and the result is the worst - or perhaps the best - night of their lives.
In the summer of 1936, three generations of wealthy, empowered women and their suitors explore the gulf between rich and poor, young and old, and find what connects them all. End of Summer, a timeless comedy/drama eavesdrops on the Wyler family as their old world order is displaced by a new era where economic inequality complicates their lives and loves.
With a little help from 80s sitcoms, poetry and hot glue, Carl and Shelly bonded for life. Then, the "other woman" and ravenous roaches separated them. Will they remain Best Friends Forever? A one-act comedy about friendship, Alf and forgiveness. At Kaleidoscope, we believe that theatre exercises our humanity, it stretches our compassion, it feeds our wit, and it refines and marinates our wisdom.
Without a Social Security number, credit history and a lifetime of data, do you really exist? God & Mr. Smith is the unpredictable comedy of a man battling his family, society and the bureaucrats as he tries to right what a computer done wrong. Travis Baker's (playwright) NY productions include the critically praised production of The Weatherbox at the Rattlestick Theatre; COLD; Sex & Violence and Peeps: A Modern Tragedy.
All these themes are covered in Shakespeare's masterpiece comedy As You Like It. This classic comedy centers on the strange courtship of Rosalind and Orlando. After a brief chance meeting, Orlando flees the dangers of his brother's jealousy and Rosalind is suddenly banished from the court. With her cousin Celia, Rosalind sets off for the Forest of Arden, where by chance she discovers the object of her affections, Orlando.
