OKPCA partners with community health centers, safety-net providers, and the patients they serve to strengthen and simplify healthcare access to underserved communities. In 2020, over 270,000 Oklahomans were served by a community health center. OKPCA advocates for strengthening access to affordable, community-based care on behalf of patients and communities across the state.

We work with partners to improve the health outcomes of patients in underserved rural and urban Oklahoma. We provide educational and technical assistance services to members and other health care providers across the state. Our focus is on enhancing clinical quality, growing our health care workforce, increasing efficiency, and improving the patient experience.

The mission of Oklahoma Primary Care Association is strengthening access to affordable, community-based health care. Founded in 1993, Oklahoma Primary Care Association (OKPCA) works on behalf of medically underserved patients and communities. We are the state's trade association for Community Health Centers (CHCs).
Community Health Centers, also known as health centers or federally qualified health centers, provide essential primary care services to Oklahomans in underserved areas. Community Health Centers (CHCs) are private nonprofits that serve all patients regardless of ability to pay, offer sliding fee scales to low-income families, and are governed by patient-majority boards that reflect the communities they serve.
Community Health Centers make up the largest network of primary care providers in America. Over 28 million Americans including more than 260,000 Oklahomans are served by CHCs each year. We're thankful for the entire medical team for truly caring about our experience and health.

In order to address the root causes of poor health, CHCs offer a one-stop-shop of integrated services under one roof like medical, dental, behavioral, vision, transportation, case management, and more. For decades, CHCs have been a bipartisan solution to issues concerning health care access, quality, and cost.
Community health centers are the backbone of Oklahoma's primary care safety net. CHCs provide low-income patients with sliding fee scale discounts and cannot refuse service to anyone based on inability to pay. Oklahoma Primary Care Association advocates for strengthened access to care for all Oklahomans.
OKPCA supports community health centers by providing training and technical and technical assistance. Our goal is to ensure our health centers are equipped to provide quality care to their patients. Members of Oklahoma Behavioral Health Association can also access OKPCA trainings at member rates. OKPCA members have access to the Relias Learning Management System and OKPCA's member portal.
