My experience definitely did not start off good. I had someone give me the wrong information for my appt (Telehealth, was given wrong person’s login), waited 5mins past my appt before I tried calling the front desk. (Providers run late) I could not reach anyone at the front desk, I called 13 times and only got voicemail. So I called the nurse line, the nurse was extremely unhelpful, sent me back to the front desk VM. I then decided to call the BILLING department, at this point my appt is well over.
I reached a lovely gentleman named Jay in Billing. He proceeded to call the front desk, when he

A complete train wreck. was already anxious about coming, requested a female provider, was given a male. harassed in the waiting room by clearly strung out patients, and when I was finally seen by this male provider, he was no more than a college student completely unqualified to help me in any way. I was pressured into filling out dubious amounts of paperwork despite saying I didn’t wan to come back. They scheduled a follow up anyway. And also charged me for the visit despite my insurance covering 100% of their services. This is also the only place in Anchorage that takes Medicaid for Mental

I wanted to update my review in hopes they kind of turned things around. By the looks of it things haven’t improved with this particular clinic. The United States has some of the worst mental healthcare in the Western world, and Alaska ranks in the top 10 of the worst states to boot. Be careful who you choose for mental health care, and try to stay positive. Good luck everybody ✌️

If you god forbid show attitude to the front desk they make sure you get denied for grants and dont receive assistance everyone else gets. This place is a joke.

Dr Wengel is the best child psychologist I've ever taken my son to. He listens. He's caring and understanding. I would recommend him to anyone.

This place is a joke. They overmedicate instead of helping people recover. They offer no encouragement or support in becoming well. If you have new emotions pop up they throw another medication at you. They keep patients overmedicated so they don't have to deal with them. Shame on them 😕

Been a patient here for over a year, and im thoroughly dissapointed everytime i try to deal with them. The doctors wouldnt listen to my issues, they just kept pushing what they wanted, nevermind the fact it was making my issues worse. On top of that, i havent even been able to schedule an appointment to talk to my therapist there because no one answers the phone at the front desk or returns my calls, but they can send me the bill for the services i can never get. Just dont go here, its not worth it.

I hate to give 1 star, because my therapist Daniel McHarge is awesome, but unfortunately my experience has been too poor.
Edit: changed to 4 stars due to the chief medical officer stepping in and giving quality customer service. More below... hopefully the provider mentioned has adjusted her approach to mental health practice
The nurse practicitioner Claudia Miracle is completely rude and all over the place. I've seen her twice now, the second time she ended the session in 10 minutes, once again with no action taken. It has taken months to even get seen, I have never had so much trouble finding

My psychiatrist quit and I did not find out until right at my appointment (scheduled in two month increments). Their response was for me to sit in their waiting room on a Tuesday all day until someone was available (nevermind the fact that I work during the day). I am just without words and it was scary giving them 100% trust with my mental health. Luckily, my PCP was able to refer me to a different clinic. Please don't feel alone.

It was a long wait list to get in here but now that i have had my intake it is completely client focused and wonderful. The staff are warm and caring and I definitely feel like this place was worth the wait . My therapist is wonderful so far and makes me feel like i am safe and in good hands. I will keep this review updated as my visits continue ..so far it could not have gone better once I got in to see a counsellor. I feel very reassured amd understood.
